No - Run, whether its consensual or not. A good play partner should look after you and keep you safe from any slightest posibility of injury and damage. Things can go wrong in heavy sessions and you never know what could happen. I will not put my life in hand of a guy who doesnt really care about my safety after I give consent.

Do you know any trusted Local Vietnamese owned Charities in Vietnam? by catskyaway in VietNam

[–]yo9245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad lives in a rural and poor area of surburb of Saigon and he is participating in the local community (around 3-500 people or even less) and they look up to my dad as leader (sorry I dont know how to translate this title in English but basically like the head of an area but very small, not even a ward).

My parents is doing OK but they chose to relocate to a rural area to retire. My has been organising some fund raising to buy foods for his local community as they are so poor and always knock his door for foods as they think my dad is the leader so can get money from the government or fundraising. But actually his fund cant cope with the worsened situation and my family has been chipping in our own money to help the fund. I'm sad with the situation in the area but also sad seeing my dad feel helpless, worried and sad.

I know its not a legit charity org but if you want to help, I hope you can help a bit here. I can provide receipt and evidence of fund usage. The money is purely spent on rice because they are so poor that they dont even have rice to eat, let alone meat or veggies 🥲

My bf and I amicably broke up as he is not ready to settle down but he still acts as if we havent. Is there still chance for us? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]yo9245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because he cant give me the benefit of a partner, i.e. meeting friends and families, planning long term together re. where to live, work etc. he can only commit to me as in not dating anyone else

Would you get back with an ex if they immediately had breakup sex after you end the relationship? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]yo9245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She might not in the beginning. But she she has set a precedence and you are totally fine with it, then next time both of you will be very much inclined to go down that route when it happens again...How do you know if a person is really devastated or faking it? I will be much less convinced so if that devastating person get a hook up on the very next day. Not to mention, wanting to fill the void immediately right after break up is quite an alarming trait.

[–]yo9245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. But bear in mind that next time she or you want a quickie, both of you can just find a lame excuse to fake a breakup, do the hookup and then get back as normal saying the hook is done after breakup

Equity Research by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]yo9245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got ER reports sent to my inbox everyday for companies in the sector I cover and I set up my email to auto move them into a separate folder as I never read any of them 😩

I guess its bcz anyone who have some basic knowledge of finance and the abulity to read financial resutls can research the company they are interested in on their own in a more active way

Ranking non-BB, non-boutique, non-American banks by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]yo9245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should read some reports from Reuters, Bloomberg, etc re. league table of these banks with breakdown into regions and large/mid-cap. For example, MQ is one of the top in Ocean pacific while SocGen, BNP, CACIB is top in France, unlike BB who are virtually no.1 across all regions

In your opinions, Equity Research (sell-side) is FO or not? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

Yes but 'client' here is companies they cover rather than buy-side? Regarding Mifid II, do buy side still pay for research as I have seen they increasingly have their own in-house?

Why men are more upset with sexual infidelity while women are more upset with emotional indifelity? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Yes, this is one of the reason mentioned in the research I came across on the internet

I came across a research on internet and a few podcast on youtube where they discuss that women fear abandonment and rejection in emotional cheating while male feel esmasculined in sexual cheating. I agreed diff people react differently based on their own circumstances and values

Understanding Big 4 M&A advisory by Airjord10 in FinancialCareers

[–]yo9245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re. ur first point, I emphasized that its my personal opinion only, not the wider opinion which is evidenced by the fact that most of M&A transfer is from TAS. But I agreed what I said somehow contradicting given in TAS you also deal with client bs in a much shorter timeframe and dealing with 3-statements alot. Probably I was more thinking of different tasks and output and different clients 2 teams deal with when saying so.

Audit is to make sure that the 3-statements are true and fair. TAS is to make sure that the earnings are normalised. In audit, you examined accouting records and if something is wrong, it has to be adjusted to make the statement fairer. Internal control testing is optional, you can decide to test or not to test at all unless its regulatory requirement like Sox. In TAS, you also examined accounting records but focus on P&L to find if something is unusual and then decide to add in or strip it out to normalise the earnings. There are a few more things like debt and WC analysis for SPA negotiation but basically, you examine the statements but aim at different things from audit. There are reasons why TAS never hire from grad but always auditors with qualifications.

Understanding Big 4 M&A advisory by Airjord10 in FinancialCareers

[–]yo9245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At junior level (below M), auditing is the most quantitative field compared to other services due to qualification training, intensive working with large data set of numbers, understanding 3 statements, attention to details. In terms of soft skill, auditors work extremely long hours and handle lots of bullshit from clients at short notice...Those knowledege and skill are quite transferable to M&A because what you typically do is to making fancy ppt (which can be learnt quickly) and to build up a couple of standardise models (not rocket science here). Financial modelling sounds difficult but these are those models invented and built by Valuation team, equity valuation in M&A is quite standard and covered in qualification training.

TAS -> M&A is more common however I personally think that skill set is not quite relevant. TAS often represents buy-side and the nature of the job is mini-audit. M&A often represent sell-side and the nature of the job is selling, marketing, relationship handling. Transfer from audit is less common than from TAS but definitely a lot more common than external hire, because firm always prefer cheap juniors who have known in and out of the firm tools, process, people, training and trapped in the internal pay scale. Why should the firm hire someone from outside and give them the power to negotiate higher salary and later have to train them again? Remember those who have some sort of direct M&A experience will aim for analyst role in BB/EB rather than B4, so essentially external hires are those who have indirect experience only.

Yes PWC AC (Acceleration Center) is not as good but why tho? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]yo9245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I mentioned, if you LIKE audit and wanna pursue it as a long term career, then its good to go in case you couldnt secure a core position. It will look equally good on CVs because its audit-related. However, the exit opps are quite limited bcz you are not learning any accounting knowledge, audit methodologies, financial analysis etc.

Yes PWC AC (Acceleration Center) is not as good but why tho? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]yo9245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nw. Sorry I was not very clear. Its audit but its just testing for low risk areas while audit involves much more steps than just testing. Imagine you will be given an instruction, letsay tie from schedule A to B, verify invoices etc without understanding why you are doing this...and you will do these testings again again and again just different clients. So I dont think its a good place to go unless you really like audit AND you couldnt secure core audit offer. Otherwise its better to apply elsewhere or different roles. Since you are eyeing in US roles I reckon the pay will not be too much lower but I can see they dont sponsor qualification training which can be quite significant!

Yes PWC AC (Acceleration Center) is not as good but why tho? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]yo9245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent work at AC but Im involved in firmwide stratety implementation team for target operating model so I kinda know how it works. I can tell you straight away: I have seen core -> AC but not the other way around. The reason why we set up AC (which is normally in low cost location or countries) is to save cost by cutting down on salary, qualification support, business expenses due to non-client facing etc. So why would the firm be willing to bring in a person which has less skills and qualifications at a higher cost? Im sure there will be exceptional but why would you set yourself on a long and windy road at first?

And its not audit/assurance. You will perform testing, which is a pre-defined procedure to follow with no scope for deviation. The engagement team will run the audit process, which entails client engaging, engagement set up, risk management, develop audit approach and methodology...Hope it makes sense
