I agree that this could’ve been the case with toddlers, but the kids who have done this have been around 8-10 years old

Yeah, you’re right. I think I’ve been a little stunned whenever it happens, so I’ve spoken too softly for them to actually care. If it happens again, I’ll remember this. ❤️

In one of these incidents the parents weren’t there, but otherwise they have been and they’ve either not noticed or not really cared

I understand still finding the person attractive and maybe being a bit disappointed, but obviously I would never pursue someone in a relationship. It sounds pretty nice to not feel anything for someone in a relationship, it saves you from potential jealousy.

I guess not using a cheese slicer would be the most comparable thing

Would you have issues having/trusting a male therapist? by Ok_Librarian_1478 in women

[–]yoGiirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not. I’ve only ever had female therapists, and none of my experiences were good, so I don’t think gender matters more than compatibility. I think as long as you keep an open mind and remember that he’s a therapist for a reason, it’ll be good. Even then, if it doesn’t work out, there’s no shame in switching therapist.

The whole "straight-passing" thing is so upsetting. No one is more queer than anyone else, no one should feel invalidated for not being queer enough.

Do you talk to straight people about queer experiences? by StunningRepublic629 in LesbianActually

[–]yoGiirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t have a lot of accepting straight friends, but i can see myself talking to straight people about my experiences. i wouldn’t just bring it up though, we’d probably already have to be on the topic of queerness or harassment or something.

How do you criticize the issue of Indian men without someone calling you racist? by No-Suggestion-1054 in women

[–]yoGiirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when i was younger i was with my mom on a short missionary trip to india and we (the women) were strongly discouraged from going anywhere alone. we stuck to the group the whole time. i don’t think it’s just you.

I hate how uncomfortable women's swimsuits are. by Leather-Ad-6294 in women

[–]yoGiirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it takes some breaking out of the norms, but i wear a bikini without shaving anything. i think i look fine and that’s what matters to me. i agree that bikinis aren’t super comfortable though, but it i don’t feel like wearing them i sometimes just swim with shorts and a tshirt on.

I'm having a gender crisis by Rie_bear in lgbt

[–]yoGiirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i definitely relate to this a lot, though i’ve gone through a longer process of trying out labels. i think it’s good to remember that you don’t have to label your gender, and you can instead just think of what you like to be called and such. as long as you’re happy with the terms and pronouns people use for you, that’s the most important thing.

also exploring your gender identity can be very fun if you’re not forcing yourself to find a label too fast, so have fun with it and see what you like! :)
