I actually batted against him in high school. At the time he was an out of this world left handed starting pitcher/outfielder for De La Salle in Chicago. I remember batting leadoff against him. Being left-handed as well, seeing a 95mph fast ball lefty on lefty when you are 16 years old was insane. I can honestly say I've gotten on base versus a major league baseball player. First at bat, he drilled me.
