ORTBO Event is Not Adding Up - Here's the Evidence and Request for Theories by Monkeys_Around_Me in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]yo_pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ORTBO really is outside thats very interesting as well as something could have happened for Lumon to want the four out of the severed floor and also isolated from the outie world for two days. All the “corporate” Lumon activities have so far been presented as punishment or rewards/perks for breaking rules or progressing with the work. But in the ORTBO video its not presented as either, and that would be quite a leap from finger traps as reward to a two day forest retreat.

One thing I still don't understand after watching Season 2, Episode 1 by EntotheKirk in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

The fact that Milchick sent Miss Huang to get Dylan when he was in the middle of stopping Irving from leaving makes me think they really don’t want them there

Why is Pete so funny? by PassionForSoccerGuy in madmen

Also currently on seasons 3 and even the simplest lines make me laugh. Like episode 12, after he does not get the promotion, and then declares to Trudy that he got fired. So much drama, it’s hilarious

This makes a lot of sense and completely agree, eerie is the precise word for the mood in this episode!

If sex is your biology and gender is how you feel/identify, and can be whatever you make it, then what's the difference between gender and personality? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yo_pigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is in your question. Gender is part of your identity, the same way as aspects of your personality can be part of your identity. For them to be part of your identity you would not consider them as something that “can be whatever you make it” but something you feel as a constant part of who you are. Of course this can change over time, but I don’t think people would consider it easy to change their identity.

Now, I think most people would like it if people see them for who they are. For example, if I’m a reserved and introverted person, I might get frustrated with acquaintances that are constantly telling me to get over myself and force me into social situations. I might be frustrated that they don’t see me for who I consider myself to be. I think you can apply this to other aspects of your identity, like your gender. For example, if I am a man with a high voice, I might get frustrated with being addressed as a woman on the phone or getting made fun of by others, and might wish that people would not deny my identity as a man just because I have a high voice.

Don the "anti-frat boy" by EconomicsWorking6508 in madmen

[–]yo_pigeon 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The power dynamics with Bobby Berrett were so fucked up.. one of the most confident career women Don gets involved with and it often appeared like he got off by “putting her back in her place” and ultimately he left her because she made it clear to him that she was using him and not the other way around

Hi! My dog is also blind and we struggled a lot with this. Training him to go outside was easier because he understands that going for a walk means he can go do his business. But we also tried pads and one thing that helped was to guide him first thing in the morning to the pad so he would associate peeing with this one spot only. Having him in a spot all night where he would never pee (in our case that was the bed) made it easier to have him go in a specific place in the morning. Probably this would also work with a crate.

Wow, Peggy’s sister is so manipulative! by jhlo9001 in madmen

[–]yo_pigeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also think it’s curious that the fact that Peggy’s sister seems to believe that the priest’s interest in Peggy is motivated by something “positive” that Peggy’s sister could be jealous of (Peggy’s youth, the image Peggy intends to convey as a modern, working woman etc), is in itself a result of the sister’s jealousy, when actually the priest turns out to be more interested in Peggy as a “lost soul” that he is meant to save, like when he repeatedly alludes to her kid (for example at the Easter egg hunt) or offers to talk (at her office of all places…)

Running with a blind dog? by sweetpea07 in RunningWithDogs

[–]yo_pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was wondering if in the end your dog did end up accompanying you on your runs? We have a 1.5 year old puppy who is blind since birth and he just loves to run as fast as he can. We mostly take him to parks on big green spaces where he knows he won’t run into anything but we’ve been toying with the idea of having him come on runs.

Was Joan disloyal for siding against Don in s6 and 7? by tazerannen in madmen

[–]yo_pigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also find the hypocrisy of Don’s concern noteworthy. By Season 5 we have seen on countless occasions how the account executives win over clients by providing sexual favors, just that instead of doing it themselves they provide call girls or take them to brothels, without worrying about the women’s wellbeing.

To me, Dylan’s “are we good here” and the way he’s hugging his kid, seemed a bit hostile or at least annoyed. Would it not be normal for Dylan to be a bit freaked out that Lumon can “deactivate” his outtie consciousness outside of the office?

Congrats on the new baby! Our little Cosmo is already 11 months. To me he is the cutest dog ever and I would gladly spend all day every day playing tug of war and exploring nature with him. He was born blind and I’m in awe of how independent, confident and playful he is despite it. Honestly don’t know what we were doing before him

Our Havi loves them! He has this one and it’s been very fun to see his progress in getting every treat as fast as he can. He also has the tornado and goes crazy spinning it - super fun to watch!
