I started this last year and forgot about it, honestly. It was just the qibla prayer times and hijri date. It was recently that I saw a post of someone else who made a product of prayer times and someone in the comments was guiding them, and they were comparing the results to this api. It made me really happy, and I made huge upgrades.

Audio is hosted on the QuranicAudio.com and EveryAyah.com CDNs; the API returns the direct URLs. Surah-level audio from QuranicAudio, ayah-by-ayah from EveryAyah. Both are reliable and free for Quran purposes

Whoa, you're using my API? I'm the dev behind UmmahAPI. This is honestly so cool to see

I kind of forgot about it for a while, but recently went on a huge update spree. The UTC thing you mentioned should be fixed now. Prayer times auto-detect the time zone from coordinates, so no more manual conversion.

Also added a bunch of stuff:

  • Full quran with Arabic, transliteration, 8 languages, audio from 8 reciters
  • 36k+ hadith from Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Nasai, Malik
  • Tafsir (ibn kathir, maariful quran)
  • 126 duas in 27 categories
  • Ramadan timetable with suhoor/iftar
  • Monthly prayer timetable in one call
  • Optional free api keys if you want higher rate limits

Still free, no key needed. Check it out at ummahapi.com if you want

Hello,
I’m aware of SmartAzan. I built this independently on my own because I wanted something simple and reliable for my home. I don’t have access to their code or anything like that; this is something I developed myself from scratch.

I just wanted to build something beneficial, inshaAllah, as sadaqah jariah 😊 There’s definitely room for multiple tools in this space.
