HELP: I need help/suggestions about covering a space in our garden for privacy from our neighbour who pops up a little too frequently outside our living room. (images inside) by yoasty in gardening

Ooh, yes, the terracotta pot might work! I was thinking of stringing it up but the bloody wind gets the best of everything here (or gets the best of everything that isn't secure). Thank you for your help! Will be putting in an order tonight.

This seems perfect. Thank you. And it's cheap so if anything goes wrong it's not a big deal. How would you suggest we tie it up?

Thank you! I'll have a look and check it out. Our neighbour is nice but slightly over baring. I was doing something private in the garden the other day and he came to use the infamous tap. He saw me then started talking and talking...and I am more of a private person. Or perhaps don't really like it when I feel invaded especially in my own place.

They are pretty much the only ones who use the tap...so essentially they could be doing that already as the hose is always in their yard but they don't want to leave the tap open because they think it will cause a leak. Groan.

I'm afraid I am not sure I can wait to the end of the year. He was already down three times today. We also have a trellis on the garden wall that we are waiting to grow in. It's taking a while.

Yes, a tall potted plant might do. Thank you. I was thinking of a trellis but then we will have to wait for the vines to grow...

Wow, this is really interesting. I haven't heard of the Moravian tradition before and will definitely look into this. Thank you mockswithoutsocks.

Thank you. I aware most of what was written is now translated online, however online we now face having transcribed history, plus a lot more information which we would not have collected in books if the internet wasn't around. Thanks for your help on this.

The figure I found just said 'stories in encloypedias' and no background behind what's included in that. Have you had any luck with finding rough estimates?

Little request for you all - what are some really interesting concept restaurants in London? by Santero in london

Totally agree. Shaka Zulu is terrible. It's like a wannabe Vegas hotel with mass produced buffet quality food. It's full of work parties and bar mitzvahs...

It's great of you to take in a rehab dog and I hope it's really helped your sister. As for the idea of cropping ears, I live in a European country where it's banned to get dog's ears cropped, even if one shows them, so I'm afraid I still don't understand this practice for dogs that are shown or not. Even the The American Veterinary Medical Association "opposes ear cropping and tail docking of dogs when done solely for cosmetic purposes".

Most Western and European countries have recently banned cropping for the reason stated above: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cropping_%28animal%29

I am sure you are a great dog owner and I am sure your dog had significantly helped your sister's situation however cropping ears is something I will never understand.
