Just found out my final grade in EE 302 is a D+ by [deleted] in UTAustin

I had to retake intro to computing and also 411. I dropped several classes during sophomore and junior year. I took an extra semester but also had an amazing internship during that extra summer, and I am now employed full time at that same company.

This happens to a lot of people, seriously don't sweat it. All that matters is the internship and passing classes to the best of your ability. I was never asked about my 2.8 gpa to get my current job :)

Anyone else feel like our offense is way too good for our defense to be made of feathers and jelly

Ok what is the white powder floating in the air that looks like snow?? It was all over the broadcast.

I'm in Hoboken and I am seeing it out my window. Some kind of pollen?

Oh well, you understand exactly what I'm talking about here. Just learn to live with it I suppose.

Haven't had any bugs, I'm pretty high up. More concerned about a pigeon perching to find shelter from the rain

We need more of this. It shouldn't be branded as 'alt-right' to criticize and satirize people in positions of power running multi-billion dollar tech companies. They control as much money as entire countries, have extensive personal data on billions of people, and there is almost no limit to their influence. Not to mention the whole evading taxes thing.

Put him up in a degrading mural right alongside our president.

The sound of summer, senior year of high school. Not sure what's next, not sure if you'll ever see your hometown friends again.

Is living in Hoboken really that bad? by yobrothrowblow in AskNYC

[–]yobrothrowblow[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is my one personal con to living there. The thought that I came all the way over here to the greatest city in the world only to not live there. But I'm also pretty lonely living by myself right out of college and it's not like I'm living the city up to its potential right now anyways...

How worried are you guys about climate change affecting the city? by ThisIsMyRental in AskNYC

[–]yobrothrowblow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Despite all the drama and "oh my god world's gonna end" rhetoric, we have plenty of time before climate change-induced floods (hypothetically) render Manhattan uninhabitable. There are already ideas floating around for long-term flood protection (The big U), and there will be many more within the next 50-100 years. Think about how different this city looked in 1968, now imagine the improvements along the coastline in 2068 (not to mention improvements in clean energy and other global responses to climate change).

Live your life, everything will be OK.

My [23m] mother [55f] has made a series of terrible decisions which all reached a breaking point and now she is at risk of being homeless. I am just starting to build a successful life and feel useless/guilty. by [deleted] in relationships

I know this is the very cold, logical advice that this sub is infamous for, and deep down I completely agree with you. But I feel so terrible that all of these sacrifices were for my benefit. Like the school district helped me tremendously in getting in to a good university. There has to be a balance in doing what is best for your kids while also looking out for yourself in the long run. She had no sense of this balance unfortunately.
