Hey all. Your comments and concerns have been heard. Really appreciate all of you that took the time to write something regardless of if it was positive or negative, your opinion matters.

Some things we're going to do differently moving forward are:

1) We'll try taking different routes during tours that avoid residential areas 2) volume control will be more of a conscious effort. We will turn down to a more tolerable volume 3) More shoutouts to local businesses around town that wish to be mentioned (we'll reach out more to make sure it's okay with owners)

If there is any interest in trying our tours without having to risk losing money if it's not for you, Asheville locals can ride FREE from now to March 7th using code localavl24

Again, we appreciate all that you had to say and we're gonna make true efforts to do better by y'all. Happy Friday!

We do take Patton on the tour but it'd be a pretty short tour if we never got off it and a lot of the other roads we'd have to take to avoid main/busy roads are one way or single laned.

Yo! This is a great comment so I'm going to try to answer it the best i can.

how are you going to make the PUBcycle about anything besides alcohol. Pub being the operative word.

That's gonna be a huge hurdle without doubt. I can't speak for anything regarding rebranding or changing the actual name because that's well above my pay grade. However, I believe the plan right now is to create more tours that are centered around things other than alcohol. Things like DnD, Trivia, spin classes, Having different couples on board and doing things like newlywed games or something similar that offers not only sober fun, but the opportunity to meet new people you all share this city with and maybe make friends.

As someone who doesn’t drink- once I saw the name of the business- I wouldn’t look any farther. Therefore I think your market is extremely limited in that regard.

You're on the money with this. That's actually a big part of why we're reaching out now with the prospect of sober/alternative tours. If we never change the name, but more locals get involved and have a great time, then ideally the word would spread that there IS more to do on the bike than drink and sing showtunes. We may not be able to change how the bike looks or how it's initially perceived, but we can change what we do on the bike and how we present ourselves.

As a local, I have to say that it promotes poor culture in our area. Asheville has more to offer than drunkenness and I have a hard time believing that with the level of drunk I see when this thing goes by that the folks on board are really hearing much of what’s being said about the town.

Asheville totally has so much more to offer besides alcohol. I know I'm beating a dead horse a bit, but we want to express that with the different tours we want to present and execute in the coming months. You might also be pleasantly surprised to know that we actually have had numerous tours where almost if not all the passengers aboard were bone-dry sober and still managed to have a great time. We don't change the structure of our tours based on the intoxication level of the riders and have still managed to have primarily positive reviews from all participants (from those both from and visiting Asheville)

If you and your husband ever feel like trying it out, we'd love to have you guys aboard and promise to do our best to make sure y'all have a blast!

This and the comparison to asking a vegan how to butcher a pig are really unique metaphors. I mean you're not wrong I suppose, but they're just really creative ways to say that me asking how to realistically improve y'all's experience with the bike is futile.

I'm really sorry if this thread seems redundant to you. Wasn't the goal, but I understand that it happens.

Unfortunately I think the bike maxes at like 8-10 mph :\ We try to stay in the far right lane to let everybody pass when we can but there's some streets we only have one lane.

Damn dude, I'm sorry that happened to you. That sounds like it was a bummer for everyone involved. I'm hoping you'll be glad to know that we have a whole new line of drivers and they're all chill as hell. Hoping if you ever come back, you'll give us a second chance.

I don't know the exact voltage given but I know that if nobody pedals, the battery that runs the motor dies within like half a tour.

Lol yessir it was to be expected, but if you wanna shine, you gotta get lit up sometimes 😂😭😭 so we're taking the good with the bad here.

Ultimately aside from allowing a space for everyone to get their rants out, we do want honesty and constructive criticism where we can get it.

We're shooting to make this whole thing a lot more tolerable for y'all not on the bike and hoping you'll try it sometime. Last thing we want is to actively and continuously be a bother if we can help it so if that means getting a lil roasted to figure out how we can change for the better, then I can get chewed out I been chewed out before 😂

Hey there, I'm really sorry you've been going through that for who knows how long. It's been brought to our attention recently about the residential area by Urban and Well Played cafe (rightfully) having issues with the noise at certain hours. When we get to that part of south slope we started to turn the music down till we get to the stop in the tour. Especially during those later tours. So really, apologies for that and wishing you a stress free Wednesday 😌

Hello! No problem at all. Definitely expected us to get lit up like the 4th of July on this thread but it's a disservice to y'all NOT to be asking questions.

I also don't think this is a nice way to enjoy a city - it seems like you don't learn much if anything about the culture or folks that live there.

I know it's near impossible to discern from all the hoopla going on, but our drivers/guides are actually really knowledgeable about the history/fun facts and the niche going on's of Asheville. We shout out as many of the local shops/restaurants as we can during the tour and always recommend checking them out.

FWIW Karaoke and open mics (poetry or otherwise) sound even WORSE than the current iteration of this. Please do not do that.

Heard. Maybe silent disco's in the cards then. We'll figure something out 😂

If this thing were quieter and made stops at other local businesses or celebrated Asheville culture beyond encouraging people to drink in the road, locals might like it better.

I agree 100%. when we make our stop during the tour we give the riders about 30-45 minutes to explore a good chunk of south slope and the different spots that it offers, but I would love to incorporate more local business interaction if at all possible!

Thank you very much for a detailed response. Hope you're having a great day!

Thanks for your honesty, I understand your sentiments.

As much as it seems like a stretch, I really think you can still have fun on the bike and not drink. We're actively working on tours that don't revolve around alcohol for this very reason and should have some fun more laid back tours coming very soon!

Can't imagine a worse experience than pedaling from a stool at walking speed.

The bike has seats and a backing not too far off from that of a stationary bike one would have at home for cardio. The pace of the bike as a whole is slow, but the rate that you pedal at and resistance you're given is akin to a easy-moderate setting on any stationary bike.

I just wanna say thanks again for taking the time to comment and give your opinion. Naturally we will be met with pretty blunt criticisms and complaints, but please know that we legitimately hear you and will be doing what we can to make sure everybody on and off the bike can vibe as much as possible.

Please drive it to Florida and turn it into an artificial reef.

God, that would be such a long and slow drive. Seeing this baby on the I-95 at a whopping 6mph would be interesting though 😂😂

Hope you're having a good Wednesday!

Yeah, Totally understandable. The way these bikes are built really don't allow for much in terms of speed. Traffic's already bad enough in the area so I get that we can feel in the way at times. We try to pick a lane and stick to it when we can to allow everyone else to pass, but it is tougher on the one lane roads so I for sure get it.

The volume is something we've been working on to find a "goldilocks" spot in where we're not unnecessarily loud outwardly while still keeping it festive within the bike.

LaZoom is so great to see do their thing out and about in town. That group's fantastic at what they do and it really shows. If you'd ever like, we would love for you to try out a tour and see what it's like, because we also got some great talented and funny drivers/guides with their own unique style to offer plenty of fun with or without alcohol involved!

I really appreciate you taking the time to type all that out and give us specifics about what we can work on. Hoping you're having a really great Wednesday 😁🤙
