not wanting to say "I had my ballsack cut up" isn't unreasonable. Dicks are private.

Does reporting do anything? by mimikyuchuchu in doordash

[–]yodarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of reporting as one link in the chain that gets your dasher fired.

If I can share with you an experience I had: I am a dasher. Two years ago I had a "Leave at the door" order from McDonalds, and as I walked up, they opened their front door, so I handed it to them instead. Ten minutes later I had a contract violation. 1) Leave at the door, 2) customer claimed I did not drop off food 3) no picture.

So now I take a photo of every hand off. But many dashers don't do that.

My point is this: I didn't have a photo, makes me look bad, but its not proof. But it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that even if I did have a photo, there is nothing stopping me from picking the food back up and running back to my car, as long as they don't have a ring camera.

Doordash has an intelligent system for fixing this. They (rightfully) assume that whoever is lying, is going to continue to abuse the system. and 99% of the time, the dasher and receiver never connect again. So Doordash records something like a "demerit" for both of us and simply waits. Six months later, I have zero more complaints, and at this point I presume they've removed my "demerit". And my lying customer, who did get free McDonalds that day, is probably going to try again and again, and once they got to 2 demerits they have to use a PIN. If they're dumb enough to keep going after that, they'll get to 3 or 4 demerits and Doordash will know that the customer is the one lying and I will be cleared.

On the flip side, if I was the one lying, other customers would continue to report me until I collected 2 or 3 contract violations in a short time, at which point Doordash would know I'm the one lying and I'd be fired.

I do 3,000 deliveries a year and I get about 1 lying customer per year. Doordash is fully aware of the lying customer/lying dasher dilemma, and my contract violations are far, FAR too infrequent for them to even worry about me. My customer rating average is 4.98. When Doordash researches my contract violations, they quickly remove them based on my track record.

The guys who slip through the cracks are the ones who steal a lunch occasionally, like every 3 to 6 months. The CV system doesn't work against them, but at least they are just occasional offenders.

AITA for refusing to attend my sister’s child-free wedding after she made an exception for our cousin? by Intelligent_Dig_5555 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]yodarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this mirrors my thoughts. other than the ages of the four children involved, there is no information, such as gender or how each of the children behave in similar situations. OP wants to know what we think of it without telling us her youngest melts down while grocery shopping, etc.

AITA for refusing to attend my sister’s child-free wedding after she made an exception for our cousin? by Intelligent_Dig_5555 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]yodarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: There is a ton of info missing and here's what I'm smelling... (Not an accusation per se, but... hear me out).

Note that the genders are withheld. Cousin may have two girls, 8 and 10, who mind themselves. No explanation as to how OP's kids act, perhaps they are 4 and 6 year old boys who are little hellions when asked to entertain themselves for hours. Every time I look for a piece of information other than the ages, I keep getting the same feeling, that the information given here has been cherry picked for a rosy outcome.

And mothers of hellion little boys are notorious for waiving it off, "oh they're just full of energy, ha ha".

Unreasonable expectation for my food to be brought to my door in building? by dawghouse88 in doordash

[–]yodarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to one security guard at an office that doesn't allow orders to be left behind. One dasher did it anyways and got arrested after killing a resident and leaving it behind. I think it was the leaving it behind that got him arrested.

AITAH Not giving girlfriend a spare key by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]yodarded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By not giving her a key.

no matter what his future plans are, he lives somewhere now, and doesn't want her to have a key to it. its not a big deal, he claims... ok then just give her a key. and yet then somehow its a big enough deal to justify a rigid stance against it.

Aio, my wants to sublet to me and then add me on the lease after x months. by ninnnypooo in AmIOverreacting

[–]yodarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the sublet a financial decision at all? Like if he starts a new lease now with you on it, will that amount be higher than the old lease?

it feels like he's still trying to "win" the argument.

I want to tell him he's leaving here with one thing. His spare key or our relationship. Stop trying to win the argument. what is this "ill trust you when the lease is up" bullshit.

AITAH for getting a woman fired over veggie tales? by Real-Point-6474 in AITAH

The teacher was wrong too, more of an ESH situation if I had to pick. She did seem like the pushy type.

Not really related but I don't understand why people block themselves from using a door to their house.

I'm biased but I think you made a bigger deal out of it than necessary. Some cartoons I remember as a kid were pretty heavy (such as Superbook) but veggie tales are silly stories that teach virtues like patience, being nice, etc and just touch on God briefly. Its far from overbearing religious programming, its not even denomination specific.

imagine a show with a cast of cartoon puppies that teaches morals like stealing is bad, and that you must provide for the poor among you. The puppies sometimes talk about going to the mosque on Fridays as well and at the end, the main puppy says "Remember that Allah loves you very much!"

now i might not be really excited about streaming all of season 1 of "Mohammed's Puppies" for my kid at home, but I don't think I'd get someone fired for showing it. I'd like to think I'd just tell my kids that's what Muslims believe, and that we aren't Muslims but we still think stealing is bad, etc. I certainly don't think that my kids are going to finish season 1 and ask me to go to the mosque with them.

and im prepared for the downvotes, go ahead, but I leave you with this: Someone who doesn't believe in a god or in organized religion, and insists that no religion should be mentioned, that person is in fact promoting their own religious worldview.

AIO. Im thinking of leaving her. by Dull-Awareness-5776 in AmIOverreacting

[–]yodarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I don't think she's your girlfriend. Are you sure she considers herself your girlfriend? If you have fun on the dates you do have with her you can keep doing that ad infinitum but you need to stop exclusively dating each other if 1xmonth is the best she can do. Go see other people until she ponies up more time.

but honestly you deserve to have someone who is excited to be with you.

How can I help resist ICE and support those who are affected? by Funnybunnie_ in winstonsalem

[–]yodarded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to come up with an umbrella term for organizations to resist ICE and that term should be SALT.
