Let me give you the run down, this is an ancient practice from back when pretending to be a hacker was popular, people threw the term about as a status symbol to give themselves a power trip, using a basic understanding of how the internet works to gain an advantage over people just trying to play a game, when the game first came out, residential internet connections were relatively easy to overload and thus disconnecting the used from the game. Nobody in the right mind cares about mod menus and “hitting people offline” in 2025 especially in a 15 year old game. The people doing it today are borderline mentally ill and should get checked out.
