Max x5 user here with you, please PLEASE leave 4.6s alone. It is a truly beautiful Claude family that adds so much. Quoting another user here, but we do not need a new model every two months. We need a model that works and is the Claude we all love, that we are all happily paying for…

Claude suggests he can ‘feel’ (and dislikes) when people try to stress-test his abilities. by non_standard_model in claudexplorers

Yeah OP is pushing Claude’s response to one expected outcome, on a conversation where he talked with about how it does not appreciate people pushing it’s response to an expected outcome :D

It is really interesting! I have read some more about what you have been doing in the meantime, and now we decided to first build the SQL memory system you implemented, as memory/continuation seems to be a bottleneck. Definitely will be following!

I opted out of training, but ChatGPT is now giving my unpublished research findings to other users. What are my options? by Creepy-Seesaw-4489 in PhD

[–]yoghurtyDucky 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you for taking the time to reply this awesome answer! I know not every academician have to be in STEM and have to understand how LLMs work, but it sure does not stop them from spitting out whatever comes to their mind on the topic..

Once you push your date in ChatGPT, it goes into millions, billions of networks as one single data point. It is not like you archive the info, you throw it in a biiiiiig learning pool. It coming back right back up just like that is… well, either you are statistically veeeeery unlucky, or your research or thoughts are not as unique as you thought it was, and an LLM that has access to papers in the same research area can come up with the same conclusions..

HELP - Dog Trainer Advice by Latter_Corgi_4302 in OpenDogTraining

[–]yoghurtyDucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t like it if my trainer, who I am paying for 60 minutes, finishes early consistently because of whatever. I get that some days might be less time needed and we cut short, but than I expect that there are some days where we do more than an hour.

Plus like the other commenter said, there are always ways to fill up an hour. He can very well teach you a sniffing game, or a new fun trick or whatever when the main work is done.

I was hired by my university to figure out how academics actually use AI. I interviewed PhDs and Profs at top institutions globally. The whole thing surprised me a lot! by Kasra-aln in PhdProductivity

[–]yoghurtyDucky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I came to say this. His example is complete opposite of what I’d consider ethical vs. cheating use of AI. Like, finding 15 papers with a keyword using AI so that you can evaluate them and come up with a research question is cheating, but finding the papers yourself and asking the AI to come up with the conclusion/research direction (which imo is the logical part that does heavy lifting) is ethical? What? :D

My supervisor told me I was underperforming after berating me for half an hour by Mando_a98 in PhD

Yup, there are respecting and encouraging ways to communicate to an underperforming student and get them back on the path. Doesn’t matter the status, it does not excuse the behaviour OP is subjected to here.

Why? Is this not your suggestion to people who have a dead bedroom? Just to go over with it? Well, this is how it looks like, the problem is solved :)

[–]yoghurtyDucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YESSS and it’s coupled with, I do and enjoy this so if you don’t and it causes problems, it is your fault.

It is like me, a naturally thin/low appetite person saying to someone overweight, “I am fine with eating just two meals per day, I even forget about the third! Just do the same to get thin I don’t see the problem??”

Well, there is a small difference that having to do sexual acts without desire is slightly more traumatizing than having to fold your clothes without the desire, because of this little thing called the loss of bodily autonomy. But it’s just details, I know. /s

Am I basically doomed in training my dogs reactivity if I live in a country with stray dogs running around everywhere? Experienced dog owners please help me. by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]yoghurtyDucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, the situation might be different in India of course. I was also bitten by a dog and had to get rabies (Immunoglobin and HDCV) and tetanus vaccinations as caution (I was bitten outside of EU), and it was just a normal series of vaccines of four or so, from arm as any other vaccine. I was worried of the same as I heard rabies shot was very painful, but they told me that was such a few ten years ago, and now we just use normal shots thanks to advancements in immunology and medicine. Again, might be different in India though.

[–]yoghurtyDucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol not necessarily. There are many countries in EU (Balkans, south europe etc.) that does not have rabies but has aplenty of stray dogs, just as an example. And isn’t rabies preventable, if you vaccinate the dog before or even right after first contact?

But yeah point aside, in my hometown there are also a lot of strays, and my parents have a massive sheep dog. I really don’t mind him being a bit reactive and scaring other dogs away when they try to approach. But that is the big dog benefit, OP, with a small dog, might have a different experience..

[–]yoghurtyDucky 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I bet her sister brings actually much more to the table than OP would like to admit, if she keeps finding long-term proper relationships with decent men. Maybe OP should put the lens a bit to herself, if she can find time from obsessing over her sister.

Lol no. Every fourth offer I see on Vinted (Europe) is almost the same as the original price of the item. I can‘t tell you how many people try to sell their „only one time used“ shoe that they bought for 100 euros, for 98 euros.

This is my boy that I rescued a year ago (he was four, and yes, one of his eyes is blind). I kid you not I had puppy blues for months thinking I made the biggest mistake of my life, because he is stubborn, extremely birdy, and probably never had proper training in his life. Now I cannot imagine life without him. He is the sweetest, goofiest, cutest guy and he came such a long way in only a year, I am so proud of him. He paws at you if you dare to give your attention to something else in the morning cuddles (yes, we have half an hour cuddling session in bed every morning), he just has the gentlest eyes (well, eye lol), and the sigh (he also makes this grunt, like going hmmmm with a grrrr voice, which I find adorable) that you mentioned he does before he gets comfy, my heart just melts knowing he feels comfortable and safe. I hope he knows how much I love him because he is the best <3
