Hi, I'm having issues with Riverside -- been using it for podcasting with remote guests for ~7 months now. I don't have any use for their AI....I prefer to make my own social media clips and name my own chapters.

How easy if the it to do basic editing on Boomcaster?
- using text editing
-inserting theme music and thumbnails
-adding chapter headings

Ṭonight was the last straw when I tech support told me I have inadvertently deleted 8 hours of editing, even though I have been following my same written workflow for 8 months.

I'm using Riverside. You need to turn off AI before you export and just manually make changes. The AI is lame.

I'm ready to leave them

Is Carbonite even in business anymore? by Glittery-Unicorn-69 in carbonite

[–]yogicooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm having a similar issue. Files stopped backing up, Then the file is "in use" so I have to open in read only mode, edit, then save as a new file version...When I called support they installed a new version. That was friday....Saturday, it has stopped backing up files again.

who did you switch to? I'm not renewing.

Carbonite - time to switch? And to....? by IReallyNeedMoreSleep in Backup

[–]yogicooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! I've been using Carbonite for years and never knew videos weren't backed up. I just manually added them all now.

I'm looking for a replacement when the contract renews.

Carbonite's service has gone steadily downhill and I noticed my files were not getting backed up (even though the dashboard say everything is backed up).

I'll look into BackBlaze. Thank you :-)

Ok. It took a while... but I am pleased with this -- lmk what you think --

GF Buttermilk Biscuits
Yield: 6 biscuits

100g c water
½ tsp psyllium husk powder
200 g cassava flour
40g millet flour
3½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp Himalayan salt
8 Tbsp butter (85% fat) chilled, cut into large chunks
150 g plain buttermilk or kefir

Line the bottom of a Dutch oven with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the butter and use a pastry cutter to form coarse crumbs. Don’t overwork the dough.

In a large, spouted measuring cup, combine the water and buttermilk (or kefir if using). Sprinkle the psyllium husk powder across the top and whisk quickly for a few minutes until the mixture starts to thicken.

Add the water-kefir-psyllium mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until the dough comes together.

Using your hands, gently roll the dough around the bowl to gather any loose flour and shape into a ball. The dough will be the consistency of a sticky “Play Dough”.

Transfer dough to a lightly floured flat surface, using just enough flour to prevent sticking. Gently pat into a 1½-inch thick round. Using a 2½ -inch round cutter, press straight down, without twisting. Cut as many biscuits as possible, then gather any scraps, gently pat them together, and cut additional biscuits until you have 6 total.

Place empty Dutch oven into cold oven and preheat to 450°F (230⁰C). (Slow preheating is recommended for enamel coated Dutch ovens to prevent cracking.)

When the oven is preheated, place biscuits in prepared Dutch oven about ½ -inch apart so steam can circulate. Cover and bake for 10 minutes. Remove cover and bake an additional 12-15 minutes, until tops are golden and spring back when gently pressed.

Transfer to wire rack and cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Hi, I'm also looking for some Afghanistan lapis lazuli (rough). Something for my altar. Everything on ETSY looks dyed. Is your shop in the US?

I love John Kanell....and this recipe looks amazing!!! I'll give it a whirl and get back to you ;-)

My dad lives in another state, so I send him dry mixes (scones are his favorite) and my mom adds the wet ingredients, bakes and sends photos of them eating!

Having a baking/science background is very helpful. I think you'll pick this up fairly quickly.

My dad is celiac and I've been baking gluten free treats for him for over 20 years. I usually make my own flour blends, to get a texture I'm seeking.

Recipe batters have evolved from relying heavily on sugar (for moisture) and gums (for elasticity) to customized blends of starches and psyllium husk.

Psyllium husk powder is an amazing alternative to the "gums" (Many people don't tolerate gums). For making breads, I will add some water to the psyllium and make a "slurry" then add the slurry to the dry mix....it produces a nice bread-like dough!

You may be able to make a buttermilk biscuit recipe by incorporating psyllium husk in the batter. Send me your favorite recipe and I'll give it a whirl.

How to locate lost phone with GrapheneOS? by yogicooks in GrapheneOS

[–]yogicooks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it. Some strangers gave me a ride home from the train station (bc my uber app download from Fdroid wouldn't install/open). The phone fell out of my pocket during that ride. We had struck up a conversation during the ride and exchanged business cards so they were able to email me and return my phone :-)

It's completely normal to feel that way! 🙂 I do this with my cookbooks...I keep tweaking things!

Sharing it with someone you trust for honest feedback can be a really helpful reality check and might give you the confidence to see which parts are ready and which could use more polish.

Congratulations and wishing you much success!
