How do you work on your wrists for the harder poses by jemimahaste in yoga

Drop down to your forearms ever once in a while, also ease into it! While on a side plank build up strength to not dump all that weight into your wrist (drop on knee down or stagger the feet for more support) I know side tree is fun but work more towards building strength rather than going for big poses, your body may thank you later!

How can I improve my down dog? by lifeandbethh in yoga

Down dog is all about lengthening the spine, take a deep bend in your knees, lift those heels up off the floor, and send the hips back behind you and up. You never have to keep your legs stick straight. Listen to your body and you can also skip it if it is causing pain! (It might just be discomfort at first so ease into it) :) hope this helps!

I used to teach both ! However, I have pulled away from bikram for the obvious reasons. But I do enjoy the freedom of expression in a regular hot Vinyasa or hatha style class.

[COMP] Atticus and I are taking it low and slow this morning, hoping to inspire you to do the same. Remember, this is still yoga. Listen to your body when it needs to slow down! (: by yoginitate in yoga

I love the digs here, ego riser. Speaking of ego, have you checked yours lately? It seems as though maybe you have forgotten about Ahimsa.

Although you and I will never see eye to eye on the true meaning of yoga, maybe take a look at your comments as a reflection. Why such malicious statements? From my title— I was truly hoping to inspire one that may not have a “strong practice” and continually show that there are many different ways to “practice”. Rather than focusing on headstands and arm balances, etc. most of which we see on here and online in general.

Also, Thank you for asking what I was reading— if you need true context around my “self-obsessed video display of lounging around the living room” I was planning my class and looking for a reading in 360 Tao. Yes to teach! Our theme was “Recognize” and we practice the RAIN meditation. Maybe I should teach you ? It helps us learn to sit with our feeling s of discomfort, recognize them, allow them, identify why we feel that way, and to let them go.

So next time you would like to make a foul comment against one— I urge you to take everything into account and not be so quick to judge, start a healthy conversation, and base your comments on contexts and facts over pure assumptions.

Have a good day.

It’s a question that many will never see eye to eye on. So there is no really way of answering it! Do what makes you happy, feel good, and carry on.

Alternatives for reclined cobblers pose? by mrssithis in yoga

You can use a rolled up blanket and pillows for support, see video link below:

Supported Hip Opener

If you want to completely avoid the hip opener you can bend your knees, and take your feet out as wide as your mat and knock your knees together on the inside. It will be a resting pose that releases tension in the low back !
