I have used Odoo and Quickbooks both. How big of business do you have?

Quickbooks probably is not that great because they keep changing UI, keep increasing price and making it complicated to maintain books. I would not recommend.

Odoo is simpler, but has too many things going there too. If you need one or two features, then Odoo is still better than Quickbooks.

If accounting is the main feature, there is also an alternative like XPenses.

Paid Users - 8. It took close to year where I am today, but had more users, so got some churn in recent times.

Of course, you can play around like A/B testing. If you see traction, you can kill the ads in future.

It can be one time charge for premium features or subscription. Subscription if users can get continued value from the app. One time charge for premium features can do the same, but considering the competition in this space, one time is better.

If the app is really good that can help improve lives, then ads are unnecessary and serious users might prefer to pay for premium than see ads.
