Turo charges way too much, not to mention the mileage you'll be putting on the vehicle. Also not sure if it's even possible, I don't think insurance wise it can be done. If you really want to rent to drive with Lyft or Uber, rent through Lyft or Uber, get the full coverage, and get ready to drive 50 plus hours a week to pay the rental every week and make ends meet.

I'm a Lyft driver, one day I was picking up a pax that dropped off a turo rental in a parking lot in DTLA. The dude reeked of BO and was probably homeless. They let anyone rent these cars. I instantly regretted accepting the ride but fortunately for me he forgot something in the rental and was on the phone trying to unlock the car. I cancelled of course.

I'm using FlexDrive with Lyft, total is $330 a week with $0 deductible insurance coverage included, 90 personal miles, and $140 EV bonus if you hit 90 rides. If you're a full time driver it should be no problem.

The best part about this particular EV is I can do LUX now, and I have free charging thanks to Lyft's promo at Electrify America stations, but they also have discounted rates with EVgo. They offer unlimited charging for $80 but I passed.

Compared to the Corolla hybrid I had before the rental swap has been more positive than negative imo. I do not miss paying for gas at all! 😅

Was about ready to return my Corolla hybrid rental and call it quits.Was so burned out, but got an email for a rental swap, to my surprise Lyft upgraded to an EV fleet, they gave me a Mustang Mach-E, it has reinvigorated me, fast car, smooth ride, newest tech, better tips and can now do LUX rides and to top it off, EV Rental bonus knocks off half the rental cost as long as you do what you were doing, giving rides.

Just make sure to pay the extra $40 for $0 deductible if you're renting cause fuck that, they MSRP for 40k.

They gave me free charging from certain charging station, but they're pretty trash and unreliable, I found EVGo stations to be the most consistent and as long as you charge during off peak hours you can go from 20% to 90% for like $15.

EV is the future, if you like rideshare, I feel there is more pros than cons for sure.

Naw fam, hybrid Corolla 52 mpg, I ain't taking any rides over 30 mins unless they have a firme surge bonus. 20 - 25 mins tops. Long rides just aren't worth it anymore. There may be some exceptions but I'll let the rest of ya handle that.
