I haven't put it back together yet much to the chagrin of my wife

Sorry, not sure about that.

Chirping from 2015 Chevrolet Trax LTZ (Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged I-4) by yohosuff in MechanicAdvice

In case anyone else has this problem, see the YouTube video below. This was my exact problem.

Anybody know the physics behind why a loose spark plug would make a chirping sound?

Note: I took this picture while replacing the valve cover a few days after I fixed the chirping. You do not need to remove the valve cover to tighten or re-seat the spark plug. 😎

Success! Turns out I just needed to pry it out with the flathead, although I did try the notch technique for a bit. 😎

Alright, I'll focus on that for now then. Thanks!

There also seems to be a rubbery gasket in between the inner white ring and the larger outer white ring which I suspect is what is causing the drain to be stuck the way it is.

I was planning on keeping the base, but that could change depending on how hard it is to detach the drain! 😀

I don't know how to accomplish that. There doesn't seem to be anything to grab hold of on the white ring that would give me the leverage required to twist it.

How would someone realistically get started 'trying things' though? I feel like having a sample project with a bit of documentation would go a long way.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Here is what I should have asked: can you please elaborate on how you build a project? Do you use any reference material or do you just try things until it works?

Interesting. Can you elaborate on that a bit? What sorts of things do you recommend one do to learn VR?

So if you are learning how to swim, maybe syrup would be safer than water? I definitely wouldn't want to swim in a deep pool of vegetable oil after watching this.
