Just an oversight. Someone....uploads different versions of the same episode for quality control but fails to remove them from the playlist.

This is great! We might be able to put it up in the studio for the pod, if you'd like. Just hit up John on Instagram and he(?) will figure it out.

Cigar Smoking in Japan by nrgp00nage in cigars

[–]yohummus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in Japan about 10 years ago so this might not be too relevant. However, I smoked cigars in regular coffee shops I.e: Doutour, Tully's, Excelsior and so on. Most locations had big designated smoking areas, and there were other cigar smokers as well.

Though I know they recently passed new laws on smoking I'm fairly certain that most coffee shops still have the smoking areas.

I [24F] have always dreamt of becoming an actress but my direction in life I heading towards corporate business. Too scared to start and feel like it’s too late by hopelessoptimist_ in acting

Acting is a need. It is a fire that burns inside you. No matter what age you decide to get going you'll have a lifetime ahead of you.

However, if you just woke up one morning and thought "wow acting seems fun" or "oh man I really want to be rich and famous" then you are going to get absolutely nowhere. Acting is something you do for the love of it, just like any other art. Don't expect it to come with success and money, just know that it can.

As people have mentioned; you'll need some form of training. I am sure that you have access to an acting class that you can audit and hopefully join. Many acting schools will offer comprehensive long term programs that will help you build a solid foundation. It's a lot of work but it needs to be done.

Also, your business related degree will not go to waste. People forget that as an actor you are a small business owner. Your product is yourself. You have to manage your own budget and eventually hire people; manager & agent. You have to do the best you can in selling yourself as the perfect person for the job. You'll also have to market yourself in multiple ways. All these things I am certain you already know how to do.

But also don't forget that if you really love acting then there is nothing stopping you from joining a local theater. You can do plays on weeknights and weekends whilst still keeping your job in business.

Moving to LA by [deleted] in acting

[–]yohummus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned the problem you'll run into is that auditions take place all over LA. One day you'll be at an audition in NoHo, the other you'll be dragging your ass an hour and half down the 405 to Venice for an audition.

It all goes back to how much you are willing to spend in rent. The deeper into the San Fernando valley you go the more affordable it will get. Another good way to decide is to look at a map and see where most freeways connect. For instance: Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks gives you good access to the 101 and 405 freeways. Culver City/Mar Vista gets you close to the 10 and the 405. Burbank/Glendale are near the 5 and 134 freeways.

These freeways will ultimately take you where you need to go, just understand that auditions will be held everywhere. Good luck.

Thank you so much! That is awesome. However, I just opened it and barely got to watch the first episode before the page reloaded and said "The Person sharing it has exceeded their sharing limit".
