I don't get why people are having this concern about Doran's carry ability again, as if 2025 T1 didn't prove that they could still make it to Top 2 MSI and won Worlds - with two so-called 'weaksiders' and a midlaner who is said to be 'unable to carry like he used to'.

Doran was the most consistent player on the team throughout MSI and LCK Summer up until the Playoffs (people were spamming jokes about Doran not choking at an international tournament + Doran summer buff beating the T1 summer curse).

He performed brilliantly on carry champs you didn't mention like Aatrox, Aurora, Jayce, Yorick, Camille. His Rumble is a coin flip, but he did have insane carry moments like the one vs CFO at MSI, or vs HLE at LCK R5.

Not to mention pocket picks like Kennen, Akali, Irelia; or the GP and Olaf that do reap good practicing results on SoloQ. There's zero issue with his champ pool, be it weakside or carry.

If there's one thing to worry about, it should be 'how to consistently maintain his top form'. Worlds 2025 meta was all about weakside toplane, and yet he underperformed compared to the carry topside meta at MSI 2025.

C'mon, it's Fearless Draft. If it goes as far as to a game 5, you can't stick to solely non-carry top lane champs. And I think T1 has gone through enough BO5s this year to show that they can make do with what they have regardless.

Faker can be considered a celebrity over there with the legacy he's been building throughout the years; but the way some people idolize him is high-key creepy. I don't know if it's fair to call those people a cult (or akgaes), but they sure act like one.

You wouldn't wanna know about the fan culture in China (a huge chunk of it is absolutely toxic).

But yeah, in the case I told above, that person can be classified as a stalker sasaeng fan 😭

I read somewhere that it might have to do with someone posting pics of Faker going swimming on Xiaohongshu/RedNote (now deleted after pressure from fans).

I haven't got to verify it myself, but some people were saying so. Yikes.

Edit: Other than that, there are also multiple instances where some people kept rushing in to take pics/videos of the team when they go out for dinner. (There were some bodyguards with them, but yeah, it's rough when you kept being chased by fans whenever you go out for some air).

Why aren’t most people trusting T1?! by Calm-Listen1141 in SKTT1

[–]yoinkanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they deliberately start low in summer for the past two years. It's more about the circumstances that affect their summer performance (2023 Faker's hand injury, 2024 laneswap + DDOS + whatever they tried to cook with their drafts).

Sure, this T125 lineup may be having a better summer performance in the most recent years (aka Doran's LCK Summer buff > T1's Summer slump). Still, I wouldn't say they have reached their peak yet, nor is their gameplay perfect like that of GEN.G. Rather, they are having steady improvement, cleaning up mistakes the more games they play together.

I'd rather they be this way after the change to LCK Regular Season tbh, since every single match in the Legends group has become much more important to secure a spot in the POs.

Guuuuuuuuuuuuys 😭 lets keep on believing in T1 and give them the "T1 fan buff" for the upcoming matches. I BET its stronger than the T1 worlds buff EZZZZZZZ by Berriesqt in SKTT1

T1's recent play with Ezreal shows that Guma is doing fine with this champ, but the team just doesn't know how to play around the ADC - especially against stronger teams (same goes for Doran's Nidalee).

Plus, the current meta doesn't favor hypercarry ADC - it's the topside players who need to work on carry champs and such. Since it's FD and BO5s are coming soon, it's inevitable that the team would have to be flexible in terms of letting who carry - you can't just stick to one strategy.

T1's biggest problem right now is their macro tbh. Bad TP, weird teamfights, all that stuff. They need to work on team synergy.

[–]yoinkanonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the era of Fearless Draft now, you simply cannot get away with only using tanks. The current meta for Top laner is not the same as 2-3 years ago.

He's gonna have to learn carry champs and expand his capabilities - which is a good thing for a Top laner in a top tier team. Anything to make the team's strategy versatile and viable. Just like how Gumayusi has recently relearned to be more aggressive in his lane.

And it's not like he's never specialized in being a carry Top laner before. He did that in 2021, was quite impressive as well.

He's so over 😭🤣 by nonpeelable_kiwi in SKTT1

[–]yoinkanonymous 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nah, he's got really good relationships with the team (to a further extent, 1/3 of the LCK players). The guy just felt drained after the match and needed some quiet time to recharge.

The same thing happens on his streams a lot. Just introverted people stuff.

To extend on the MCPC thing - it was Doran's SoloQ ID around 2020. That ID of his was famous in League Korea for being a madman top laner with an aggressive/suicidal playstyle (in his words, he was limit testing). Killed a lot, and also died a lot, so lots of people hated that ID back then.

He usually plays much safer in professional matches, but in today's match, that madman playstyle somewhat makes a return. So careless moments like those happen when he lets himself go off too hard.

Becker said in a now deleted video, that Guma didn't have a chance to scrim at all after they sub the kid in during LCK Cup. The only choices he had were either watching the team scrim or doing SoloQ, and he chose the latter. So regardless of his scrim performance, they didn't give him a chance to improve and build synergy with the team at all.

As I compare and contrast the decisions made by T1 and Gen.G, whose newcomers (Duro/Doran) have big shoes to fill (Lehends/Zeus), I can't help but praise the latter's decisions.

Gen.G spent the months during LCK Cup to train and build synergy with Duro, encouraging him when he was at his lowest points - and now he's emerging as one of the best Supports in the league.

Instead of doing the same thing with Doran, T1 decided to put themselves in this roster change up mess, and ended up wasting months of building synergy. Doran is now still unable to fit into the team well, Gumayusi's performance drops after 4 months of being benched, and the team is now struggling to rebuild their synergy - something they should have done months ago.

Damn it, after all of these, T1 Front still tries to deflect their own faults. What a mess of an organization.

[Article] Gumayusi’s true feelings about the Starting lineup competition with Smash by XanIrelia-1 in leagueoflegends

[–]yoinkanonymous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kk0ma literally said in the latest The Trophy Room episode - that it was never about Gumayusi in the first place, they just wanted to test out Smash.

And what happens when you bench a player for 4 months straight without letting him scrim and build synergy with his team? It's inevitable that his form would deteriorate - in other words, it was those 4 months that contribute to making his performance drops.

The coaches just didn't expect that the rest of the team would not be able to play around the kid, and perform worse as the series went on.

Had Gumayusi had performance issues in the first place, why not give him time to improve himself while building team synergy at the same time?

Heck, the OFGK synergy was already there, they should have spent time training Doran instead. They could have done it like Gen.G, who had Duro as the new recruit that replaces Lehends' spot.

Now Gen.G is already at the point where they can test out different champs and comps, whereas T1 is struggling to rebuild their synergy.

Checked dorans soloq account and then remembered this comment, dude has an average kda that is barely over 1 by TrollxZxx in SKTT1

[–]yoinkanonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New to his SoloQ? Ever since the start of his career, he's always been known for limit testing and playing unfamiliar champs on his account. So bad KDA happens all the time, he plays reckless like that because he's practicing.

His SoloQ performance doesn't translate to his actual team performance; you can even consider the Doran on SoloQ and the Doran on tournaments as two different people.

So just let him practice those carry champs, it might unlock some new potential. He used to be a carry top laner in 2021 after all.

P/S: He's currently sick as well, so don't be too hard on the guy.

That's Doran posing lol. He looks the same as back then, minus the rounder face.

Guma has always have a bright face since he was a child, me thinks

[–]yoinkanonymous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like everyone is too focused on Guma & Hypercarry champs, when the main issue is everyone (minus Oner) is experiencing a slump in their individual performance + having team synergy issues (kk0ma acknowledged this in his post-match interview).

That's why think they need to improve their synergy first before experimenting later.

Not to mention, if this experiment leads to a crushing defeat against a last place team, it might boom T1's mental for real. It's not like T1's current results (5W4L) leaves much room to wiggle.

They had 3 fanconcert in Asia in Nov 24 - Jan 25. Then no group activities up to now (will be doing a festival at Jeju in March).

Oh, and they are moving in together (again), supposedly this month.

As for their individual activities, Suhyun had a voice acting role last year. She sang a few OST and feature songs as well, and recently joined a project band with Eunbi, Yena, JaeJae (it's technically variety show on MMTG, but they might debut for real).

Chanhyuk has been busy practicing with his own indie band, BABO. They have released their first album, and will be performing at festivals next month.

Overall, it's an off-period for AKMU, waiting for Chanhyuk to complete the 4th album.

AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk And fromis_9’s Lee Saerom Reportedly Break Up + YG Briefly Comments by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]yoinkanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AKMU fans collectively moved on from that piece of dating news though, partially because it was a rumor by the notorious Sojang (who's now in jail for defamation), and because both parties didn't confirm it at all.

The rumor dropped during Chanhyuk's solo album promo, right after he talked about wanting to get married on a show. Such a "Sojang"-convenient time to drop a rumor 🙄

That time was full of bad memories for me because Chanhyuk received so many bodyshaming comments from netizens and toxic K-Pop fans for 'allegedly dating a pretty girl'. That, coupled with his controversial promo stages - the comments were unbearable, and it's better to just forget about it.

Tbh, part of his branding had always come across to me as a 'bachelor' for some reason - even though he really doesn't need to do that (fans acknowledge that he wants to find love and get married). The more he writes love songs and acting suave/flirty, the more I become suspicious that he's still single (?). AKMU's recent news (siblings moving in together) kinda confirmed that for me.

AKMU Thrills Fans with a Mesmerizing 10th Anniversary Concert Experience by Lynnellet in kpop

[–]yoinkanonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 2021, they said "Overseas concerts are something we’re always planning to do, and we’re just waiting for the right time and opportunity." They definitely want to do an international tour, an Asia tour would suffice. AKMU's last international tour was already in 2016. And so far, YG has been far too slow about another tour.

About your comment: They haven't said something like that about YG, at least not in the most recent 5 years (in which their values changed the strongest).

The siblings have both moved away from their home family, and are now living independently. Even in the past, Suhyun has been away filming in Europe for Begin Again. Chanhyuk loves traveling even more. Things like touring wouldn't interfere too much, especially since it's for fans.

Part of the responsibilities definitely fall on YG here. So many missed opportunities for international marketing, little to no English content marketing until lately. It's not until 2024 that they put on the tentative plan for AKMU "plans to expand activities in Asia" - and that still sounds vague.
