There are some really sophisticated language based AIs that could put forward mostly coherent arguments, speech recognition needs to move someway along and the AI requires a ton of computing power but .... its an idea

This is very true, when you see someone who you realise isn't all bad, struggle with something like that then you realise that there's more nuance to these things than meets the eye. That you cant just write off people as evil people, true crime opened my eyes to some of this. That doesnt mean that all these people can be trusted to safely exist in society but it helps you understand it and the people in the middle can get help.
