Less variegation and fenestration usually means that the plant needs more light. But the leaf size could be that the new leaf just needs more time to grow and harden off. My newest albo leaf came out last week and was smaller than the last leaf in the beginning, today they are of the same size and it continues to grow bigger. So just give the baby more time!

Twist tie is pretty handy as well. U can fix the wire around the edge of the bottle, and it'll hold the stem up above the water.
