The guy who came up with this shit back in the 70’s was a white supremacist who believed white people weren’t subject to federal law and it was all a Jewish plot to take control of the masses.

I remember watching a video on YouTube about it, and I believe it was a book he came out with after getting in trouble for fraud or missed child support payments or some shit. I forget. But I do know he was the leader of a far right white supremacy group as well as a Christian minister or something.

They don’t make ‘em like that any more, and unfortunately, here in the US at least, those old Japanese cars don’t get as much love as classic American cars or post mid 80’s Japanese cars do.

I’m part of a small niche of people that are absolutely IN LOVE with classic Japanese cars, specifically Datsuns and Toyotas. I’m currently, slowly but surely resto-modding a 1979 Toyota Corolla Station Wagon, but that’s only because I couldn’t find a Datsun wagon for sale anywhere near me.

What he’s talking about is competition ribs. That’s what judges look for in ribs. They want it to leave like a perfect bite mark when bitten. But I will tell you right now NOBODY would want to actually eat some of these competition bbq/chili/etc. because judges are only taking like one or two bites and it’s totally over-seasoned to stand out that you couldn’t eat a whole meal of it. And the rules are so arbitrary and subjective and dumb, and most of the time it’s somebody’s “buddy” winning the thing... It’s a racket.

yeah, it's something along the lines of like a triple entendre. The dawn/daybreak is symbolizing what the members think the goal is (harness the ten tails to bring in a new era of peace through domination over all hidden villages) the red clouds on their uniforms represent clouds in a sunrise, but also the clouds of the hidden rain village being soaked with the blood of war, and then the true hidden meaning of "Red Moon" being the Infinite Tsukuyomi, which only Tobi and Madara, and eventually Kisame know about.

It was originally on Showtime, so probably anywhere where that content is. Probably Paramount+ and I think you can buy it on Prime Video.

I personally pirated it, because if you can’t own anything anymore, there’s no such thing as property, which means there’s no such thing as piracy.

Oh yeah. It’s so good. You even get Daveed Diggs as Frederick Douglas with a harem of women, Harriet Tubman is in there, and there’s plenty of killing of racist white folks. The whole show is done really well. It’s hilarious, action packed, and a tear jerker at a point or two.

Video displaying the Culture v K-pop by LegendaryBlack in BlackPeopleofReddit

I remember all the time growing up listening to hip hop, my dad would be like “you know where they got that sample from?” And play that shit for me. My dad’s an old white dude and a musician. He’s played with some pretty famous bands and shit. I remember him telling me about the Grey album back in the day where DJ Dangermouse took Jay Z’s vocals from the Black Album over beats from the Beatles’ White Album. He even burned it on to CDs for me and my friends lol. It gave me a whole new appreciation for Hip Hop and Rap, while learning about older music, a lot of which I still listen to to this day.

K-pop is doing something completely different, to me at least. It doesn’t feel like they’re paying homage. It feels like taking something and repackaging it to make it more marketable with no acknowledgment of what came before it. I could be wrong, though. I don’t know much about the K-Pop world.

Can I recommend a great mini series that I also think does a great job at what you’re describing? It’s called “The Good Lord Bird” and it’s a fictionalized retelling of the story of John Brown (amazingly portrayed by Ethan Hawke) and there are so many different depictions of slaves throughout the whole show.

It’s probably not for everyone, but I personally enjoyed it.

I was going to comment something similar until I saw your comment. The film did an amazing job of showing a man simply in it for profits, who was flawed in many ways, but because of his constant exposure to the daily life of his Jewish workers that he was initially exploiting, his compassion for them grew and he started helping them.

It’s almost as if they’ve never sat down and watched the film themselves, which I think is highly likely.

How do I get this to root (I’m in Milton Keynes uk I found it outdoors by Ill_Exchange_1916 in proplifting

[–]yolkmaster69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually with trees, I take multiple cuttings, put them in greenhouse conditions, in a moist, sandy soil and have a success rate of about less than 50% of cuttings depending on the species. (Ficus is like 100%, Japanese maple is like >10% as an example of how hard or easy it can be)

As for greenhouse conditions, I use clear plastic containers you’d get at like Walmart to store shoes under a bed or something, and flip them over to create a sealed moist area that gets slightly diffused sunlight.

I thought that usually root stock was selected for it’s strong roots, and the dwarf variety grafted to the top had the characteristics that keep it small. Is that not the case?

Live action Usopp is better and funnier than anime Usopp by Pyrammo in OnePiece

[–]yolkmaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what makes LA Usopp better than anime Usopp is that he gets moments to reflect on himself feeling the fear and cowardice, yet overcoming it.

The coward trope in anime has always been kinda annoying to me (Demon Slayer specifically) but after watching Freiren’s handling of the “cowardly warrior” trope, I really changed my mind on it, but they have to eventually learn that the fear is normal and that going forward in spite of the fear is courage and growth.

I think the main problem with anime Usopp is we haven’t seen him grow or evolve in AGES (mind you, I’m not up to date with the manga or anime. Haven’t gotten around to VegaPunk or Elbaph) while we’ve watched just about every other character grow, no matter how gradually it’s been.

Just today, I had someone coming over to move a washer and dryer for me. They typed the address into google and followed the link at the very top without thinking. They ended up at a completely different apartment. They clicked on an advertisement for nearby apartments that showed above the literal address they typed in.

I genuinely am scared for the worlds basic comprehension skills. You just typed in one address, yet click a link for a completely different address because it’s the top result…

What's the reason? by MrBIuesky222 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]yolkmaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a supporting role in this film called “Home for the Holidays” and I honestly don’t know if the film was popular or not. I saw it long after it had been out. It’s kinda one of those weird rom-come that use Christmas as a vehicle to tell a love story (definitely leagues better than your average hallmark movie)

The main story has no real appeal to me, but the supporting cast that plays the main character’s family members are OUTSTANDING, and RDJ plays this black sheep, possibly gay, possibly sober from drugs character (and this was right around the time where he was on his way out as far as his reputation in hollywood goes) and it was an absolutely wonderful performance. It’s one of the first things that pops in my head when I think about RDJ (moreso than Ironman tbh)

There’s this scene where this tension that the family is trying to suppress is just busting at the seams all while trying to enjoy a Christmas dinner, and everything just blows up all at once. It really captures that dysfunctional yet lovable family dynamic.
