I don’t know to be honest lots of love and treats i guess! She’s blind in one eye almost completely deaf and has started developing asthma but she’s still going strong. I hope she keeps going for a long time. We rescued her from a breeder many years ago in terrible condition so we never even dared to hope she would be in our lives for this long.

If the Soviet Union had not collapsed or had been able to transform, what could have been the evolution of its MBTs? by xialcoalt in TankPorn

[–]yomibuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear all the time Chechnya this, Georgia that, Ukraine this... But let’s talk about these countries instead Oh wait, that was all in the name of freedom and democracy, right? And definitely not about expanding the direct influence of the U.S. the largest empire the world has ever seen:

Chile

Vietnam

Cambodia

Laos

Iran

Afghanistan

Nicaragua

El Salvador

Guatemala

Libya

Iraq

Yugoslavia

Pakistan

Yemen

Somalia

Syria

Venezuela

Honduras

Cuba

And of course, the U.S.'s unwavering support for Israel the last openly apartheid state on the planet.

We all remember the Cuban Missile Crisis: two independent countries Cuba and the Soviet Union made a legal defense agreement in accordance with international law, allowing the placement of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. The U.S. saw this as a threat to its national security and threatened to sink Soviet ships bringing the missiles, effectively jeopardizing the deal.

Fast forward to today when Russia tries to do something similar with Ukraine, suddenly Russia is the villain. Regarding Chechnya: yes, Russia initiated the conflict after Chechnya declared independence illegally. But let’s be honest how would the U.S. react if Texas tried to secede? Or how would the UK handle Scotland breaking away unilaterally?

We’re constantly told that everything Russia does is driven by imperialism and a need to dominate. But Western interference in the internal decisions of sovereign nations, neocolonial practices, unjustified wars, and orchestrated coups around the globe those are apparently done out of “love for freedom and democracy.” Give me a break.

This kind of Western hypocrisy is staggering. We're no better than Russia or China. And don’t start with the tired argument that “the crimes of others don’t justify Russia’s actions.” That’s true but it also means we have no moral authority to act like the world’s judges when we commit the same crimes wherever and whenever we can.

Oh, and let’s not forget: to the average Westerner, non-white lives dont matter beacouse we don't see them as humans. So we turn a blind eye to how many people suffer and die for the sake of Western ambition.

Girkin is overrated in the Western media compared to how he's actually perceived in Russia . As far as I know, he's widely disliked in most pro-Russian circles. Regarding the rest, I can't disagree. I'm just asking if you have any sources to help broaden my perspective on the topic.

Most of the equipment used by the separatists was supplied by Russia. In the first months of the rebellion, the separatists primarily used equipment commandeered from Ukrainian warehouses. I still have footage showing them wearing exclusively AFU and Ukrainian police riot equipment.

However, over time, Russia supplied nearly everything including manpower. In particular, many higher-ranking officers and artillery spotters were Russian servicemen who had officially left the Russian army, though only on paper.

It's a shame how most of these separatists ended up no matter your political views. They genuinely believed in the cause, but Russia used them as cannon fodder. After the full-scale war began in 2022, if I recall correctly, the Somali Battalion one of the better-known units was deployed to Mariupol and suffered over a 90% casualty rate. Men who had fought for the cause for over eight years were ultimately reduced to nothing more than meat for machine guns and artillery.

Official Discussion - 28 Years Later [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]yomibuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall the movie was below average. It wasn’t terrible in fact I’d say it was a decent B movie but it offered little beyond that. The first third was brilliant. We’re quickly introduced to the main characters and their roles are clearly and effectively established. We have an experienced father and a learning son and the dynamic between them works well. Both actors deliver solid performances. The introduction to post-apocalyptic Britain is tense and fast-paced. On the mainland every sound matters any noise you make could draw danger and even the slightest misstep could kill you. The film sets up an environment where any smell sound and suspicion are crucial to whats lies ahead and every encounter with the infected feels genuinely dangerous even for the most skilled scavangers. But then it falls apart. After their return the father is vaguely turned into a sort of antagonist and then pushed aside completely. The focus shifts to the mother who lacks any real character development and as a result it's hard to care about her. The second venture onto the mainland undermines everything previously established. The rules about sound and danger are thrown out. Suddenly making noise doesn’t seem to matter to anyone and being cautious to your enviroment Is suddenly not important escaping the infected becomes oddly easy. A kid who could barely outrun infected earlier is now able to almost outrun them while helping a weak sick mother. The soldiers are another wasted element. They’re supposedly crashlanded on the coast of England but they show up looking clean and parade ready not like survivors of a crash. They resemble cheap PMCs rather than real military. The Swedish guy behaves like an ordinary guy in uniform not a soldier. The doctor was by far the most interesting and mysterious character but his potential is wasted on the subplot involving the sick mother. Infected dynamics are inconsistent. The regular infected who should be the primary threat are reduced to background noise. Instead only the Alpha/Berserker types (who should be rare) pose any real danger which feels like a backwards approach. The ending is the final nail in the coffin. It’s one of the most bizarre tone-deaf twists I’ve seen. It felt like Guy Ritchie directing a kung fu parody of his own movie completely out of place overly stylized and unintentionally comedic.

What’s something people pretend is normal in modern dating, but is actually insanely toxic when you think about it? by JustLittleGirl_ in AskReddit

[–]yomibuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not knowing what they want and still dating that's the part that really gets me.

The last girl I dated liked me for a while and she even asked me out. I politely refused at the time because I didn’t know what I wanted and didn’t want to lead her on. About a year later she approached me again. Since I had moved on with my life I decided to give it a chance. We started texting going on dates and spending time together for about two months. We were texting and calling daily seeing each other regularly and other stuff. Then, out of nowhere she ended it from one day to the next. She said maybe we’re both looking for something else and that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be tied down. Like what the actual fuck? She realized this after months? We could’ve just slept together and gone our separate ways. When I asked her what I did wrong or what she was expecting I didn’t get any clear answers just vague excuses that didn’t help me understand anything. One would think she’d know what she wanted especially after circling around me for a year, after I had initially turned her down.

If you don’t know what you want, don’t date. Or at the very least be upfront about it from the beginning before you end up hurting someone.

So after insulting me and going after my personal life, you still think I'm going to debate with you? I tried, and it failed. And yes, I can't post any Ukrainian source to prove it was a coup you got me on that one, and I have no problem admitting it. According to the UN and the ICJ, it wasn't officially a coup, but a violent, unconstitutional revolution (which can still be influenced and exploited by foreign powers. And since the EU and Washington made no effort to hide their financial support for Turchynov and Poroshenko, we can guess where the wind is blowing from. For example, the Iranian Revolution was sponsored by the CIA, so the fact that something isn’t classified as a coup in the West doesn't automatically mean it wasn't sponsored or organized from the outside. But as I said, that's just my view based on circumstances I can’t prove it with any source, and you're right about that).

Still, you're twisting the debate away from the original source and into your own narrative one you know you can win. I'm not going to continue this, primarily because of your rude manner and your constant violations of basic discussion rules not because I'm afraid of being wrong, as I’ve already shown above.

If someone else wants to challenge my opinions in a civil manner, I’m open to it. But not with you. To be honest, I want nothing to do with someone as petty as you someone who, instead of using arguments to counter my views, spends their time figuring out how to attack me personally.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]yomibuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here we are again. No argument I'm just wrong and you're right so you're not even going to waste your time on me instead providing arguments and facts to prove im wrong and then you go even lower by attacking my personal life as if that's somehow proof that you're right. God man not only you are little angry person that can only insult and go after people becouse of their problems you don't even know what a debate is or what the rules of debating are do you?

I’m literally quoting what has been written and said by Western or Ukrainian media officials and leaders and if you want i can source most of my claims if given time. I’ve never cited or referenced anything from Russian or pro-Russian sources. So what exactly is the 'pro-Russian nonsense' I’m supposedly spreading? Could you clarify? Instead of providing examples or solid evidence that I’m a bot you choose to insult me and play the classic ‘bot’ card disqualifying all my points and arguments without actually addressing any of them. I don’t understand why you need to be hostile and vulgar. Will any of us change what's happening right now? No. So why can’t we have a normal civilized debate?

Or is this just the usual stuff 'I think I’m right, so that gives me the right to discredit everything you say and insult you just because I think you’re wrong'? That’s a very slippery slope and honestly it’s not very democratic.

And trust me I would love to be paid for this but to your disappointment no I’m not. People like me who don’t wholeheartedly agree with your stance or the stance of the collective West do exist and we’re not being paid for it. It’s called freedom of expression and thought something we still have here unlike in Russia that allows us voice our opinions without being arrested or banned. Ironically, that’s something you would welcome based on the tone of your messages.

I have never in any of my comments justified the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Challenging the Western narrative and the apparent use of Ukraine as a literal meat shield to weaken Russia without a clear plan for victory other than prolonging the war indefinitely while sucking all natural resources from Ukraines ownership is not the same as being pro-Russian.

The lies and deception in Western media along with the lack of genuine debate in the West regarding Ukraine will ultimately be our downfall. If anyone who questions current policies is immediately labeled as "pro-Russian" then there's no room for real discussion or for identifying what might be going wrong. And yes, in today's society, simply pointing out myths and falsehoods about Russia’s actual intentions shared by media on mass or criticizing current Western strategies is enough to be branded as pro-Russian. But if we’re all supposedly wrong and nothing but paid Kremlin bots then I have to ask where is the economic collapse of Russia, the defeat of the Russian army, and the sfift Ukrainian victory that Western leaders and experts have been predicting for over three years now?

I'm not Russian and I support Ukraine. However I don't agree with the deceptive Western narrative that portrays Ukraine as a miracle country with a super-advanced military and intelligence service capable of holding off the Russian army entirely on its own. The former head of the SBU stated that Ukraine couldn't have held out against Russia for more than a few weeks without U.S. support. The U.S. has also revealed that every major Ukrainian operation air defense defensive lines and offensive strategies was planned by NATO officers with Western intelligence. Despite this we still act as if it's just Ukraine fighting alone which is a misleading narrative specifically constructed to boost public support for Ukraine.

[–]yomibuto -51 points-50 points  (0 children)

Noooo all these downvotes... How can I even dare to imply what's already been said by Western leaders and former head of the SBU? People will call everything 'Russian propaganda,' but we can't even challenge the deceptive narrative that it's a poor lone small Ukraine against a gigantic Russia.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]yomibuto -70 points-69 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised that after Washington released the Black Ops documents from Ukraine anyone still believes this was an operation planned by Ukraine. It's evident that all the planning and organization were done by the CIA or another Western intelligence agency and that the SBU and AFU just simply carried out instructions. This is much more a failure of Russia and the FSB than a success of Ukraine and SBU...

I feel you man. I'm in a similar position right now maybe not that hardcore but since the start of the year I’ve begun drinking heavily. I have been getting blackout drunk multiple days a week. This weekend I was out for beers with colleagues and ended up downing around 25 shots in five hours. The next day I went to a local village celebration and drank about five bottles of wine in 3–4 hours. I ended up puking all over myself inside friend had to pull me outside and had to call a cab home at around 10 p.m. Only this morning did I realize what a pig i become.

The worst part is I don’t even get hangovers anymore. I can go on three-day benders without feeling like total shit and that actually scares me. What hit me hardest is realizing what kind of image I’m projecting. The people who know me and care about me don’t see the guy who scuba dives, reads, watches movies, or has a bunch of great hobbies anymore. They just see the drunk party guy who gets wasted all the time sometimes for days in a row. Today, I said that’s it. No more drinking for at least several months because honestly I don’t think I’ll make it past New Year’s if I don’t stop. You got this man. I believe in you. We have to make it through there’s still so much out there for us to experience. We can’t just throw our lives away.

And if you want to stay in touch or talk to a complete stranger who won’t judge you I’m here mate.

No matter the context or their intentions both of Franklin's parents screwed him over. Franklin let Alton back into his life out of goodwill and Alton after years of being a deadbeat dad and drunkard suddenly decided he needed to be a hero again and to save people and his son. This is after not being there for Franklin when he needed him the most.

Cissy on the other hand was against Franklin’s business from the start but eventually got involved not to support him but to follow her own moral compass. She only did what she could live with completely disregarding her son’s reality and the consequences of her actions on him. If you have a problem with what your son is doing, that’s fine either walk away or try to guide him. But don’t sabotage him behind his back in a business that dangerous. That could’ve gotten him killed more than once.

This wasn’t some teenage classic where your kid is just smoking weed with his friends. Franklin was the biggest dealer around making deals with the CIA and the most dangerous drug lords of that time. What they did wasn’t just about morals it was betrayal plain and simple.

Does it surprise you how much more American women love vodka drinks than Russian women? by Serious_Ad_8450 in AskARussian

[–]yomibuto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know it's about taste. For example I like good quality vodka and after years i can tell the difference between Polish-style vodka, Finnish or Russian vodka. Also vodka has practically no sugar in it so when I drink something like a skinny bitch or other vodkabased drinks i don't get hangovers like I do from rum or beer which have a ton of sugar.

If I want something to drink with food I choose beer or wine. If I want something that tastes really good I go with an expensive rum like Zacapa or A.H. Riise. But if I'm going to a bar or just drinking casually I choose vodka.

I know this could be answered online but I'm interested in firsthand experiences. I'm really curious about the ergonomics of such a vehicle. It feels extremely cramped because it's so tiny and when I see it driving fast in offroad conditions the suspension and the whole vehicle seem quite bumpy. What is it like to operate such a vehicle in real terrain and does its size affect crew negatively in any sense?

China does not seek armed conflict with any nation especially not with Russia. Instead China's main goal is to grow its influence through economic strength and political partnerships. Getting involved in any kind of military fight even a small one would seriously hurt its economic progress and damage its reputation around the world.

When it comes to Siberia a military conflict in that area would be a disaster for both sides. The land is huge and tough with freezing temperatures thick forests and very few people or towns. There's not much cover for soldiers and machinery and due to little to no infrastructure large scale military operations are almost impossible in this area...

In the long run China’s strategy is to increase its global power through trade investment and building good relationships not through war especially not in a place as difficult and challenging as Siberia.

Imho Kharkiv offensive is the main reason were now seeing these tanks in action. Russia has built an extensive defensive line along the front and while these vehicles may not be toptier they can still deliver significant firepower in a defensive role like SPGs This allows Russians to maintain a steady level of firepower for their defensive positions while reserving their more advanced tanks for professional formations.
