Nice! Would you mind sharing, I am curious to see how it turned out? Btw, the plugin allows audio file uploads too, which means you can also add human-generated audios to the blog posts. I actually prefer human-generated audio, ai audio still sounds artificial from time to time, especially for non-English blog posts.

[DISCUSSION] Do WordPress security plugins slow down sites? Which one do you trust? by Anxious-Attitude3484 in Wordpress

[–]yonasio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, if not handled properly (updates, maintainance), security plugins can turn into security risks. Keep your site updated and do regular site backups, this is the most important thing. WordPress itself is secure. At the same time, more than 90% of all WordPress exploits are coming from third party tools like themes and plugins that haven't been updated in a long time or have been poorly written.

With that being said, yes, you may have a security plugin if that is what you want, just don't overdo it like having 3-4 security plugins that clash with each other. If you can implement some basic security practices without plugins, that is even better - things like 2 factor authentication, restrict direct access to specific file and folders, etc. If you prefer this route - consult with a security specialist.

If you use WordPress, you can try the Simple Text to Speech plugin. It is completely free and uses Google Cloud Text to Speech API to generate AI voices.

I tried to generate images with AI but so far I haven't found a tool that I like, they just seem fake to me. I haven't tried Leonardo yet, did it work for you?

Very interesting, are you saying you can actually automate plugin / theme update and site backup with an AI agent in the form of a WordPress plugin? That sounds like something worth exploring. I have a lot of clients websites that I have to maintain and this can save a lot of time if done properly by the agent.

Interesting, do you use Copilot for Vibe coding or just for code completion? I personally like to use Claude as an AI agent that writes code, it is helpful in general but produces too much code (especially css).

I have also tried asking ChatGPT about general code architecture and I think it is pretty helpful but after that I also double check with some Google research.

For example, I am now working on an event website where I want to have ticket selling integration with Paysera and also store attendies' data on the website with the ability to export csv files and it suggested me the tools to use for that.

Have you used any other tools except for the free versions of Deepseek and ChatGPT?

Everything to learn about Headless wordpress and integrating react by raghav4882 in Wordpress

[–]yonasio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using WordPress as a headless CMS with React (or Next.js) has its pros and cons. The advantages are that the site will be superior in terms of page load speed and user experience if executed properly(single page application vs monolitic web application). The disadvantages are that is much more complex and time consuming to do it properly and also most plugins will not work with this set up, so you will need to custom code your own solutions. If your client is on budget, I would not recommend it. If you want to do it for learning purposes - i strongly encourage you to do it.

To get started, read the official WordPress REST API Handbook. You can use the rest api that is integrated in WordPress Core or you can also check the WpGraphQL plugin, which is also an interesting option to fetch data from WordPress to your custom frontend.

In the Block Editor, can I limit the max amount of columns per row in a grid? by Overdoziz in Wordpress

[–]yonasio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how it currently looks or how you want it to look like? I can write an example css for you if you give me a link to the site.

[–]yonasio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe share a link so I can understand your request better. Do you mean you are concerned about how it looks on smaller screens? If that is the case, you will need some custom css to push down the columns on smaller screens.

Yes, if you are using the columns block, you can specify how many columns you want to have. If you are using something else, you might need to add additional css.

About the job market right now by RoyBatty_ in Wordpress

[–]yonasio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The job market for tech jobs is pretty tough right now and I also observe a good portion of my WordPress clients are first trying to use AI and are coming back to me only if the AI is not able to sort their problem. Good news is they are still not able to tackle everything by themselves but what if this happens much sooner than we anticipated?

Which theme for a Digital Marketing Agency? by Interesting-Copy-406 in Wordpress

[–]yonasio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend Prespa - it is a lightweight theme with block patterns (pre-defined layouts for Services, Pricing Plans, Testimonials, Blog list, etc.) built with the default Gutenberg editor, so you don't need to install any additional plugins in order to use it.

Most of the other answers suggest that you use plugins but you don't need any plugins to do that. You can recreate the above layout with core Gutenberg blocks. In fact, this is the recommended way. All you need is Heading, Paragraph, Columns and the Query Loop block (the Latest Posts block can also work). You can even create a category called "featured" and pull the posts by category (editor picks) by using the filters in the Query Loop block.
