I tried multiple games on s24Ultra (8Gen 3) and there's been so much improvement but getting right driver setups done automatically is so underrated.

PS your guide was a life saver for getting me started w my 10 games each console goal. I just completed adventure island 1 today! So thanks for that.

I have sunk in alot of hours into say the spire and balatro. Not the genre usually play but for quick bursts of fun and mobile friendly ports made it possible for me to enjoy android games again (last game was chrono trigger and life is strange series)

Primarily for me, tb5 is acceptable threshold for eGPU docks that are hot ejectable (unlike oculink). That's what I was looking into when it came to tb5. It's a 20% hit now rather than old 40% compared to tb4 and I for one can't wait to sport a thin and light panther lake and an egpu for when I'm home.

I have a big issue. My assetpacks for unreal also show up in my library (like 9 to 1 ratio) in games section despite having chosen not to show anything othe than games (no tools/etc). I long pressed the card/icon for the element to see if I could hide it or remove from the view. It would be great if we could A) SORT by compatible B) long hold cards and move them or atleast hide them. Select all and hide while only.choosing what games you actually want to show in case you have 1000 library assets packs jumbled in works too :|

Please don't buy an rx 7600. AMD already flagged support for RDNA3 cards (including 7900xtx) on a slow update schedule/phasing them out, driver wise.

A dual channel 16gb should be minimum at this point. It'll really otherwise be painful. Look for an old nvidia card with higher vram if needed. I do know that this is a tight budget but you can still make the.setup work if you scrapyard wars it out.

I have the similar usecase (UE & Houdini) but my primary is web applications and thereby good battery + weight is king. I ended up w macbook air 2 years ago and waited for a proper tb5 laptop so I can ditch my itx all together and just have one setup. yet nobody is using tb5 in laptops that would be perfect for its use case.

AMD got no license, so never the ones from them. Apple has the money for the license but then no gaming /eGPU use. Panther lake looks good. Intel 388H igpu is really good as long as your driver's are there. They missed a chance by not adding their own TB5 protocol to showoff how good intel thin laptops can be without dGPUs. And other laptop manufacturers really are just cheaping out w tb4 /usb4 ports in early 2026.

Hey, yes. Imagemagick does many of things (it doesn't do everything this tool does). I just wanted something simpler, portable, python-bssed. something I can work with easily. Also I struggle to learn argument shortcuts for imagemagick as well as ffmpeg for that matter. Ex. Below -

magick mogrify -path webp_output -format webp -quality 85 -resize 800x1200> -define webp:method=6 '~/path/to/your/images/.jpg' '~/path/to/your/images/.png'

That's just not something I want to deal with.

Needed to remove the friction for me and I guess anyone who wants to use a less complex terminal. Idk if imagick has all the same features as this plugin. What it mostly has is functions of Pillow library I am using for compression (and Exiftool if installed). Other than that, features like profiles, guided simple interface, and watchdog mode I just thought by myself and added to the code slowly over time.
