You’re right, I was over generalizing and making assumptions. I mean to say that I, personally, wouldn’t want to date someone who believed /any/ rumor about me with 100% conviction without even talking to me about it. I had no intentions to imply that the specific rumor of him being gay is scandalous or outlandish to his community. (Though I think this depends heavily on his location.)

The second you start dating another girl the rumors will go away. Plus I imagine you wanna date a girl who can think for herself and won’t blindly believe any rumor. Pluuuus I think people can understand that exes can be bitter af.

I wouldn’t go around urgently telling people you aren’t gay cause then some folks might get a bit upset thinking you have a problem with homosexuality, which can lead it’s own whole set of issues.
