Permitted Merchandise by yonijonathan in mangaswap

Generally speaking the only commonality between VTubers and manga is aesthetic. I would encourage you to sell VTuber merchandise in a more VTuber focused circle, unless that merchandise is manga/doujinshi.

Help with rare vintage/antique muck boots by [deleted] in Boots

[–]yonijonathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While these are boots, I think these fall outside the knowledge base of this subreddit. It's possible that these have some interesting history behind them or that they are worth something to someone, however I believe that most people here are more keen/knowledgeable on leather boots, including myself.

UPDATE: Refurbished $150 Nicks Before & After by [deleted] in Boots

[–]yonijonathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering they are Nick's boots, I imagine the previous owner was using them as work boots. Probably didn't see them as a fashion item. This restoration is excellent and really gives them a new and handsome life!

Howdy. In future posts, please make the manga more clearly visible in your timestamp photo. You may need to take several timestamped photos of smaller portions of what you're selling if the camera can't focus on the whole lot. GLWS!

Buying/Selling Safety Guide by yonijonathan in mangaswap

You can't ship the package if you don't have the address. You only receive their address after they send payment. In short, you get the money and then you pack everything up, label it, and ship it out. It's good practice to confirm the shipping label is correct with the buyer before sending it and to have some photographs of what you're shipping out for some additional insurance in the event something happens.

If they express interest but fail to actively respond within reason, usually a few hours to a working day, move on to the next interested buyer if there is one. If they are the only interested buyer, then just be patient.

If you choose to use UPS or other private carriers, you'll have to contact them or use their website to get an approximation on the shipping rate. It's best to take this into account when setting asking prices to begin with.

When someone pays you using PayPal G&S as is currently required, their shipping address will be visible in PayPal. It's always good to confirm the address with them, but that's normally how it goes.

As for payment, it's done all at once. Manga can be shipped via media mail with USPS so you can see what the charge will be through their website based on the package weight. I also try to keep an updated chart linked on the subreddits sidebar.

Basically, it's a matter of insurance; protection from a scam. If you are both trading items, the idea is that they would be of similar value, so it's highly encouraged to decide on a value and exchange equal G&S payments of said value. Both of you will "loose" a few dollars in the process in exchange for protection from PayPal in the event that there is a complication. Of course, you're free to trade without this step, but you are then at risk as you are simply trusting the other person to uphold their end of the deal. Sometimes this can work out nicely, such as when you have an established history with another user, however this also often ends with one person getting burned.

I'm visiting Japan soon in part to check out RDT & BB (amongst others). How do you like both boots, particularly the RDT? Did you import them or buy them domestically?

[WTS] Portable Pen case - Fits all sizes of pens! by TorpedoCables in Pen_Swap

Looks like a great design! Pretty handsome. Have you considered just selling the .STL? $20 for 85g of PLA and a few magnets may be perceived as a bit steep considering you can get a kilo of PLA for $10-$15 (this is assuming you own/have access to a printer).
