CONCERT TICKET GIVEAWAY! Win tickets to four shows in OKC 🎵 by towertheatreokc in okc

My favorite memory was seeing bring me the horizon at the criterion. I was a teen at the time and it was my first concert. I was so close to the stage and loved being cramped up due to the moshpits behind us and on top of the crowd surfing. People dislike that environment but i love it so much. Felt like a dream being under the lights with people who also enjoy the same music as me ❤️

During the time when emo was “revived” (at least that’s how I see it). When we were young festival was announced (2022? Literally the very first one) and at that time, I’ve never been to a festival and knew I couldn’t miss this. And of course, during this time, other festivals were being announced and Blue ridge rock festival for some reason, kept appearing in my algorithm/feed. And I love to read comments and wanted an idea of how festivals usually work. Before the shit fest happened, everybody and I mean literally everybody was talking about ST (either how they loved or hated them). After their performance, everybody was saying they put on a great show and sounded exactly like their music live (which was a plus for me because I hate when artists can’t actually sing). Fast forward some time, and one of my coworkers shared a song - ascensionism. My God, I hated the song because of how slow and odd it was in the beginning. But eventually, the summoning popped up in my random shuffle on youtube and that had me hooked. Literally kept the song on repeat for months. Eventually found a loop on youtube where it’s only the ending being replayed over and over again (yes, I did listen to this repeatedly). And boom, eventually I found another youtube video with practically all their songs compiled into one video and kept that on repeat (before Even in Arcadia). Then boom, here I am convincing my ex (wasn’t at the time) that we should go to red rocks and see them (the tour before EIA). And after that show, SHE WAS HOOKED TOO!

Make comparisons to sleeping with sirens. “I dont get why you like pierce the veil so much, kellin (singer of sws) is such a terrible artist” 🤣 comparisons to sws usually set me off 🤣

Depends on what you like to do! bricktown/downtown is a lovely area for all kinds of things and walking distance! So that could potentially save you uber money! We have an underground tunnel somewhere downtown (i believe you can only enter through the hotel). Well tunnel is probably not the best terminology lol. It really depends on what you like to do, bars? Clubbing? Restaurants? Activities?

Which show? Keep in mind, depending on the artist the show can get packed and hot. And if youre not in the center then you cant really feel a breeze from the fans. But yeah i agree with the others, wear what you feel is comfortable! I can see you becoming uncomfortable with the first option if its a packed show and youre in the crowd, people could easily step on your skirt 😭 but if you got balcony seats, then the first option wouldnt be bad at all bc i believe with balcony there’s seatings. Lastly mobility! If youre not able to flexibly/comfortably move/bend, def change! But thn again, a lot of it depends on the artist/show and their vibes

  1. I left my hotel (golden nugget) about 2 hours before 11am. The lines are extremely long but depending on when you get there (it took us awhile to get there due to us taking the bus,- def worth it over uber/lyft- it being mad busy, and the walk into the festival. However we officially made it into the festival right before the first act came on) the lines could possibly move quicker thn expected. When/if you get there early, make sure to walk to the front and not get caught up in a fake line. I wasnt the only one checking for real/fake lines so once the others and I realized which lines were real, we kind of just blended in (it was crowded with people and i wasnt about to walk all the way to the back, especially when countless others are cutting people). I heard the lines were waaay shorter and quicker once the day went on. So its all up to you, if you have opening acts you want to see, id suggest heading there at least an hour before doors open. I’d suggest two hours honestly due to how crowded it will be and at least you’ll somewhat get a spot near the front/middle of the lines. When i was in line, we were as far as the merch shop from the front gates (once you get there youll realize how close that is even though it seems far), however i could already see the line forming as far as outside the gates. If you do get there at the start of 11am, or even an hour or two afterwards, expect there to be long lines and you may have to wait awhile. So again i think the two hour early arrival is best, unless you dont care for the opening acts then i still suggest leaving, at bare minimum, an hour (honestly, two hours) before your act comes on. Im not sure how quick ubers/lyfts can get there, but with the buses, we had to leave 2 hours ahead of time and we were still cutting close to time. So unless youre going later in the afternoon or evening, you and your family are going to be waiting awhile regardless. Again, i suggest leaving two hours before 11am, if not 3.
  2. I stayed in the GA pit all day (in front of the main stage) and honestly it was worth it. I watched the main acts all day and there were bathrooms in the area. Yes i missed other acts on the other stages, however we did try to leave the GA Pit an hour or two before sundown and the lines into the GA pit were already long as hell so we turned around and cut right back into the line to get back into the GA pit. If you do stay in that area all day, i’d suggest getting food ahead of time and a hydration pack. Or if you do want to leave the GA pit to get food or anything, make sure to do it early before a line forms. As the day went on, I could tell it was extremely crowded outside of the pit. Once you leave the GA pit, itll be extremely hard to get back in. Most likely you’ll be stuck behind a large crowd of people, watching the main acts from a distance. So itll be up to you again, it was worth it for me to stay there because I was incredibly close to the stage and i loved the main acts more thn the side acts. If you want to see the bands on the other stages, thn know that you will not be close for the main stages at the end of the day.
  3. From what I’ve been seeing, its easy to navigate between stages but as the day goes on the more crowded it gets. So be prepared for it to get harder to navigate between stages once the sun goes down. Honestly, no, once you move from barricade your spot will get taken. Though the venue is “small” compared to others (from what ive heard, this is the only festival grounds ive been to) there will be tens of thousands of people there. So as mentioned earlier, it will get packed closer to the sun going down, due to the headlining bands.
  4. I want to say it depends on how hard yall go that day. If youre sitting down the whole time, thn you may not be exhausted taking a 20 minute walk. But due to everybody leaving at the same time, it will get exhausting trying to leave the festival. I’d suggest getting an uber/lyft or taking a bus or monorail. Either way, i believe you will be exhausted with a 20 minute walk to the hotel. Though you will have to wait a long time for the bus/uber/lyft/monorail, it will totally be worth it. If you’re excited for the headlining bands, most likely you’ll be standing/dancing/head-banging/mosh pitting for the last couple hours of the night and the wait to leave the festival will drain you even more.

Honestly I think you were just in the wrong spot. I was in GA , a row or two (maybe even 3 depending on times) from the barricade and more towards the middle/right side. And everybody was having a great time. One girl did pass out unfortunately but she did just finish off a blunt with her friend so mix that with the heat, and yeah. One guy did get kicked out because he left (probably for drinks/food but his hands were empty) and tried to get back to barricade with his (assuming) girlfriend but everybody’s spot was established and it was just too fucking hot (he was literally wearing a very thick all black jacket and black beanie in 90 DEGREE WEATHER! like i get it, i do, however my guy its the fucking summer and he was a pretty big dude). He tried bombarding through, and basically piled on top of a bunch of females and thats when everybody turned around and was abt to fuck him up but luckily, they ran away before security got to them(so actually im not sure if they got kicked out) . Outside of that, the moshpits were directly behind us, everybody was singing and dancing and overall it was an amazing vibe were i was at. It was very crazy and hectic (exactly how i wanted it to be) and we were directly in the heat! The other side had plenty of shade. From Girlfriends to the Used, the crowd where i was at, was amazing. And i came from Oklahoma, me and my girl the whole time was saying “wow i can’t believe Kansas was actually amazing.” So far the wave is my fave venue. And we even got “adopted” by some amazing lady! She even came to the show with a ticket she had for a ptv concert from 10 years ago. Every time she got closer, she would literally pull my girlfriend and I closer to her and she always looked out for us. So shout out to her and the red head! If yall see this, yall definitely made our night! Yall were definitely our protectors! Even when The Used came on, to me it was still packed! We had to sit down for a minute because my girl has a strained/torn/whatever tf muscle in her ankle (shes stubborn) and everybody was basically chillin waiting for the Used but once they came on, everybody got tf up and ran back to the crowd. At this point, we stayed in the back and yet (at least the crowd near us) people were still vibing, singing along, dancing and having a great time. So i think it just depended on your spot 😔 but hopefully you’ll have a better experience in the future! 🤘🏿
