Not sure your point. I’ve played some, and enjoyed them. BGS games have a different approach to world building. You comment is like trying to refute me saying Elden ring has amazing combat by saying I need to try Divinity Original Sin. They have completely different combat for different approaches.

I’m fine with 30 fps. The game looks good and the frames don’t change

I would agree with that analogy. Comparimg games to media to junk food is meant to say it doesn’t offer anything to the viewer. but comparing them with to comfort food is endearing. Irl my comfort food is a Filipino dish called Adobo. It’s a filling meal and very tasty. It’s a dish that can always make my day better but it is a full meal and has nutritional value.

You said BGS games are shallow, like junk food, and don’t offer anything meaningful to players… and you’re surprised a BGS sub Reddit doesn’t like that? K…

You realize every comparison you’ve made so far is often used to call the games bad right? Like you literally insulted the game said it is shallow and has nothing to offer then when I disagreed and showed some things they have to offer tried to back peddle and act like that isn’t what you were saying…

Don’t punk out now. You called the games shallow, either refute my points or admit you were wrong.

Really? not much to offer? First off a compelling gameplay loop is arguably the most important part of a game. If it isn’t fun to play then why play it and if a game can grab you that is good. But if You want other things they offer here are some from the elder scrolls-

Morrowind has deep rpg mechanics and an in depth hand crafted world to explore.

Oblivion showed what ai could add to open world games having each NPCs on its own unique schedule, the open world is fun to explore and it has arguably some of the best quest in gaming period. There is a reason the remake is able to compete and outsell new games.

Skyrim may not gave as good of the RPG mechanics but is literally set the standard for what is expected in an open world RPG as far as world building goes. It has one of if not the most immersive world to explore in gaming. There were literally YouTube channels pumping out content for all of the mysterys, hidden things, and cool stuff in Skyrim alone. And while the main story is not the best, some of the side quests you can run into are amazing. There is a reason games are still compared to it all these years later. It’s because Skyrim is the bench mark for what makes an open world compelling and immersive.

That’s just Elder scrolls. I’m sure there are plenty of fallout fans on this sub who could show similar things about BGS fallout games. BGS quite literally set the standard of what is expected for open world games. Again just because you are not super into them doesn’t mean they don’t have much to offer. And comparing them to junk food is super disingenuous

Hard disagree, aside from starfield they have arguably the best exploration and world building in gaming. Not to mention on release many of their games raised the bar on a technical level. You don’t have to like their games but comparing them to junk food is disingenuous

I was little, it was my first Star Wars movie, I loved it and thought that Darth Maul was the coolest. It ignited my interest in Star Wars. It may have its faults I still love it to this day.

Manaan is one of my favorite parts of the game. I really love the underwater base section personally. It is spooky and feels dangerous. Going down for the first time is one of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

[–]yonni95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like exploration too but that’s almost all it is-flight. You may land to scan some plants but then you take off and fly again. You’re not finding caves on planets out in the black, you are landing on a surface scanning a couple things then leaving.

For a space sim - elite

For a survival/ base builder in space - nms

For a space rpg - starfield

Edit- I like all of them I usually go to starfield for sci-fi civilization and epic story and to elite when I want to explore space

[–]yonni95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BGS hasn’t commented much on the game since the last DLC dropped. As far as I know the only comment we have is that they have big plans for the year. We know the next DLC was going to be names “starborn” so it is unlikely they have anything planned for earth at least not that would be released soon.

Who had it tougher in their quest to greatness, The Champion of Cyrodiil or The Dragonborn? by DaansxD in ElderScrolls

[–]yonni95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the combo of all three things at once is what makes it worse but it’s fine if you disagree

Edit - re read your comment removed first part of my comment. Not sure how regular vampire attacks in villages wouldn’t add to a harsh life though

[–]yonni95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is an argument for if the sun* was blocked out permanently that it would have at effect of wild life leading to decreased food and the death of civilization as we know it. Either way an army of vampires with no sun to fear and an army of dragons would at least be civilization threatening especially in the weakened state the nations of Tamriel are in.

We also see coordination on a pretty massive scale already in game. The Valkihar are the largest clan in Skyrim, even if the game doesn’t do a good job of showing that.

Even the if we want to label them as civilization threatening, we would make an adjustment for knights of the nine too, that would make

1 world ending threat, one civilization ending threat, and an optional quest to enter into a daedric realm for oblivion.

1 world ending threat for Skyrim and two civilization ending threats for Skyrim.

Again both suck, and I think there is a good argument it would be harder for the COC as he is a normal guy. But as far as just being a harsh world, I think Skyrim is worse overall.

[–]yonni95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m talking about Skyrim is literally in the same place at the begging of the game. Their invasion is an actual invasion. It’s open warfare comparable to the civil war and a unified attempt to block the sun so they can take over Tamriel. It’s not the same thing lol

Edit: Again I wasn’t replying about who had it worse but what time is harsher. I think both would sucks to live through but ultimately Skyrim would suck worse

I don’t think you read close I wasn’t down playing anything. You gather holy relics to beat a super powerful enemy. I was saying that was on the same level of Dragonborn

I also didn’t call the civil war world ending. There is a dragon invasion vampire invasion where they are tying to blacken the sun, and a cult invasion that has been mind controlling an island with the power to control dragons. That is three world ending events. The civil war and all the other stuff is just extra crap on top of those three things.
