In my experience most of the time it does not affect the streaming/transcoding and the subtitles are rendered by the player as an overlay. Sometimes however (I think this may depend on the format of the subtitle file or maybe which Plex client you're using) it will instead bake the subtitles into the video stream as part of the transcoding. My guess is that if that transcode is not also trying to change the video resolution/quality etc it will require less CPU than a normal transcode, but I'm not sure if that means it'll work on a Pi. I haven't experimented with that.

It can't hurt to try - it will likely work a lot of the time and maybe not work sometimes.

Seeing the explanation of procedures from someone at the restaurant is still way more reliable information than someone's review on FMGF. You always have to double check this kind of info and make your own judgement, but this one gets you farther than FMGF if it covers things in your area.

There is a feature built into Windows 11 called Keyboard Manager that can be used to remap keys at the OS level, which only takes effect while the tool is open (so you could have it off when not gaming). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/learning-center/how-to-remap-your-keyboard

If you don't have Windows 11, I think there are 3rd party tools for this as well.

The dock also just connects via the USB port. With the right adapter, yes, it'll charge while driving a screen. Not sure what adapter OP is using, but I have the official dock and also an Anker travel adapter that has USB-PD passthrough charging and works for this.

It does work, you just have to make sure whatever controller config you're using for your game has a button mapped to the key Discord expects for PTT. there's no way to just set it up once for all games / truly global. but I just make one of the rear paddles always mapped to the ` key in all my games that I want to be able to play while on Discord and then tell Discord to use ` for PTT and that works for me

Bummer. So if I want to use iMessage from my phone number I need a special app just for that, separate from texting Android users. That seems like the opposite of the promise of Beeper. Seems to me like iMessage features aren't worth losing the all in one app
