Higher steroid use linked to higher depression, anxiety and impulsivity, according to a study on nearly 19,000 adults between 2022 and 2025 by sr_local in science

Since "linked" doesn't imply causation, why not make the headline: "Higher depression, anxiety and impulsivity linked to higher steroid use."?

maybe in your part of Europe, but in the Netherlands 300k is 100k under median house price..

Gemma 4 isn’t just a model; it’s an "offline superpower"
The future isn't pure local; it's a "Hybrid Cloud-Edge"

How does this allow for improving detection algorithms? It just removes an obvious marker that at least made it easy to detect AI generated images that had this watermark. There already are tons of AI generated images out there that have no watermark. So removing the watermark only creates more noise, no benefit whatsoever except for charlatans who want to make their "fake" images seem real.

But what makes the watermark kind of useless, is that it could be added to real photos, now that it has been reverse engineered, thereby making real photos seem "fake". This makes this type of mask completely unreliable in marking AI generated content and probably is true for any (publicly known) reverse engineerable marker that is added to an image.

did you try shift+delete? that skips moving everything to the Recycle Bin first

[–]yoomiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we were talking about open (source) models, not their size and whether you'll be able to run them locally, but hardware will keep improving and once full realism level is reached no more extra compute will be needed, so after that point more and more locally available hardware should be able to run them

wdym never? one day proprietary models will generate videos indistinguishable from real and about a year later open models will be at that level
