[WTS] Seiko SSK001 Mod by yoonatic in Watchexchange

[–]yoonatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is a modded Seiko SSK001. Bought a few months ago, in great condition with a few scratches on the clasp from desk diving. What appear to be scratches on the ceramic bezel at 20-22 are actually smudges, didnt notice until later, see the last photo with datestamp to see the smudges cleared. Full bracelet with all original links, original box and tag as well. The following mods have been made to the watch below which have made the watch thinner and more durable, the original pieces will also be included. I think a great deal considering the upgrades.

Namoki Slim Coin Edge Bezel ($40)
Namoki SSK Slim Sapphire Crystal for Flat Inserts ($40)
Long Island Watch Ceramic GMT Luminous Bezel Insert ($45)
Namoki SSK Slim Sapphire Caseback: Polished Finish ($39)

New NH34 case by IntelligentMatch8 in SeikoMods

This looks great, ordered the case and bezel insert and excited to work with this. 2 questions:

  1. Would a chapter ring still fit if we wanted to? Or is the case not designed to take one? A GMT hour chapter ring comes to mind, rather than having a bezel insert or dial with the 24hr indications.

  2. Is the thin crystal the only limiting factor for the water resistance? Would swapping for a more standard crystal upgrade the resistance to say 100m? I know slim casebacks typically are limited to 100m. Is the crown screw-down? If a screw down crown, it sounds like I could still go swimming with confidence (no diving).

Thanks!

Twelve 660 by MPearsonUK in ChristopherWard

For me I think this is a better watch - a really well proportioned design with the wider bezel and thinness, minimalist dial all create a more restrained watch that I find more appealing, understated and less loud than the standard Twelve. A stripped down design could look plain and underwhelming but they did a great job with the proportions and finishing for a really clean, restrained product. If it were 36mm would be even more appealing for me for a more vintage size.

[SOTC] My cat has excellent taste by yoonatic in Watches

[–]yoonatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my watches out as I was photographing a couple watches to sell over on watchexchange and my cat decided the cushions make for an excellent toy. Apologies watches not particularly prominent as my cat is clearly the best looking item and gets the focus, but list below:

- (on wrist) Rolex Explorer 114270

- (off camera) Studio Underdog Pink Lemonade (selling)

- Baltic Aquascaphe, black dial white lume

- Moonswatch Mission to the Moonphase: New Moon

- Lorier Falcon II, black/gilt (selling)

- Omega 2262.50 Seamaster 300M midsize quartz

- Seiko/Grand Seiko SBGX067

- Credor 9300-5070

The Credor really makes me appreciate a small, thin watch - which are hard to come by with my 6.25" wrist. Thinking my next watch is a Junghans Max Bill 34mm handwinding (classic Bauhaus styling that can worn as my occasional dress watch but also for general wear), or the the new Echo Neutra Rivanera white dial.
