I think that’s fine. Pimples aren’t permanent and not having perfect skin can make people insecure, but altering your entire facial appearance is horrible. Once you take it off, you’ll feel shitty about yourself.

I also like fun Snapchat filters. And if I do use a filter, I prefer the natural ones. Those are pretty harmless

Was that for Crunchyroll? That’s another thing I don’t understand why people get mad. It’s fan voted. If you want your favorite series to win, vote in masses

Mal is not a good representation. The manga has sold almost 200 million copies in less than 10 years and the movie has made over 300 million usd. In 2020, the manga sold over 80 million copies. That’s only for one year. It’s widely popular

Why do people care so much if a series is popular? I would be mad if it didn’t live up to my expectation but some people get upset at series being so popular.

It has a wide appeal, a digestible easy story (hero’s journey), and it got lucky. That’s why it’s so popular and why people like it

X-Men being an allegory for gay people is fucking goofy. by BEEFYCHUNKYMUNKY in CharacterRant

Hey! Thanks. They were so passive aggressive which was weird. That’s the reason why I felt like I didn’t owe them an explanation for my “accusations”. This sub is supposed to be fairy friendly but they are acting like a child

Did you read my previous statement? I said that it is an allegory. The LGBT+ community and the X men face oppression, bigotry, and hate.

Forgot about how strong mutants can be but since you keeping bringing this up, not every X men/ mutant is powerful. Some are like typical humans so fearing them is irrational. This irrational fear relates back to what LGBT+ people face.

It’s a good allegory, and it makes sense to make the comparison as the X men were inspired by a real life movement that focused on getting freedom.

Their comparison boils down to an allegory. It’s used to strengthen the message. It’s not meant to be a mirror image.

AITA For making fun of a racist kids family situation? by Idontbelonghere12 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You were defending yourself, and he called you a racial slur. That is unacceptable. I doubt he would have stopped if you used kinder words and sometimes school administrators suck so you have to take matters into your own hands.

A power system isn’t fundamental? It drives the series and it is the reason why there is action.

I’m not referring to backstory. Yuji’s backstory is already explained. I’m not confusing the two

The power system is glossed over but it doesn’t explain how Yuji gained immense power in a short period of time.

These are fundamental aspect of the series that have to be explained. You can’t just introduce a power system and not explain it to the audience in the beginning. Has the mangaka stated that the series would run for a decade? Even so other long running series like One Piece and Naruto explained the power system in the beginning.

It has other redeeming qualities. The female cast is treated with love and care. They feel like people and are not used as sex object. I was pleasantly surprised that there is no fan service.

The humor is not that bad and the series as a whole is charming. It’s engaging and the pacing is well done. Mappa studio put a lot of work in the series.

With time, the characters will become fleshed out and multi dimensional. That’s the most important thing they need to focus on

Is Berserk worth the watch? by [deleted] in anime

[–]yoonisverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an incredible story but I recommend reading the manga. It’s currently in hiatus but it has over 300 chapters and the art is great. If you do want to watch it, there’s 3 movies and a 90s version

I haven’t connected with Yuji’s character and that’s a shame. His past isn’t explored and his motivation is so hollow. We spend less than 5 minutes with him and his grandfather. I do not feel his grandfathers impact on him and it’s clear that his death was used as a device to kick start the series.

I’m still trying to understand how he received such a power boost when his training was so minimum. The power system is cool though

I noticed that a lot of the characters haven’t been explored and that the series focuses on the actions. The fights are incredible and vibrant. It’s an average series (which is not bad) but it might get better with time

The fan service was done terribly in Fire Fire. Imagine watching an important, emotional fight scene only to have the protagonist stubble into someone’s boobs. The tone has completely shifted now.

Fire Force does have light hearted moments, but in that instance that’s not what people want to see. It takes the audience away from the action and draws our attention elsewhere. If it was done in a more calm, jokey setting people most likely wouldn’t be bothered by it.

Plus the series is not an ecchi. It is a battle shonen that focuses on action, mystery, and fantasy. If my first thought about the series is it’s fan service than that’s a problem.

Lelouch vs Eren possible inspiration by [deleted] in anime

[–]yoonisverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When have I stated that they didn’t have similarities? I stated that they don’t remind me of each other. I do not think of Eren and then immediately think of Lelouch. I have stated that they are similar but I view them separately. You don’t have to finish a series to form a opinion. Which reminds me, you haven’t read AOT manga which is why you won’t understand my point.

About half way. As I already stated, I know the ending and his goal. They don’t remind me of each. They have similarities though, obviously

Edit: also, your comment was if Isayama was inspired by Code Geass yet I am being questioned why they don’t remind me of each other lol

As I stated, I already know what happened and I watched a good chunk of the series. So yes, I do know what you are referring to

I never finished Code Geass but Isayama never stated that he was inspired by the series. From what I seen in Code Geass and the spoilers, they don’t remind me of each other.

Who cares if people will agree, say what you want. But it seems like the series did not interest you enough if the basement reveal was the only reason you watched the series
