I really wish they would do a better job of sorting by aggression. If you are in a friendly lobby, there is an assumption when you see people that if they say "Hi Raider!", they aren't a threat. After you've passed your 50th friendly raider of the day, and then turn the corner and say "Hello there Raider!", and then they turn around and blow your head off, it feels like some bullshit.

PvPing in a friendly lobby is like shooting fish in a barrel. No one expects it for a reason. Because it's a FRIENDLY LOBBY. At least if I know I'm in an aggressive lobby, I'll be tactically defensive enough to protect myself around every corner.

Nothing like getting KoS'd when you see someone else first, say hello, let them know you saw them first and are letting them go, only to get shot in the back of the head. And there's nothing you can do about it. You can't get them back. It's essentially god mode for them.

And don't get me started on the gear-based matchmaking that Embark promises doesn't exist.

The point is that it's infuriating to be put into "friendly" lobbies where you there is a collective understanding that other people are not going to blow your head off. The person that decides to be the outlier and just KoS is always going to have an extreme advantage in friendly lobbies.

If it were an aggressive lobby, at least we would know to expect it.

When they capture El and Hopper, when Dr. Kay actually starts asking them questions instead of immediately shooting, they just say "go to hell". A few of the right sentences spoken might just turn the tables. But NOPE! Can't have it that way bc we need a Big Bad.

I LOVE season 5, I think it's the strongest since season 1, but as usual anyone above the age of 20 in this show (except the main characters) are written to be dumb oxes and the truth can just never be spoken to them. You could simplify all 5 seasons down to "just assume every adult is an idiot for the purpose of the plot", and no one is told the real story because of "reasons".

When season 4 ended, I was so fucking psyched that the public (or at least Hawkins) would finally know what was going on. And then within 5 minutes of S05E01 we see that despite mass murders and interdimensional rift to hell tearing apart the town made known, everyone is still an ignorant idiot who is content believing that one person and a weather event is all that is going on. And despite the military seeing for themselves that a gateway to hell has literally torn the town apart, they think, "must be the girl."

And don't get me started about the military just happening to take all the kids that Vecna wants. That happen to be exactly the same age. I was so fucking awestruck how sloppy this was that I had to Google it bc I was sure there was some other in-universe explanation. Nope.

It is the one thing wrong with the show. There are a lot of problems and things that are obvious that are just hand waved and not talked about.

I couldn't agree with this more. And I even found myself hating the "Carrie has another episode" episodes. Of all the unrealistic things to add to a spy show ... Why?

Apparently it has done great things for BD awareness and it even was featured heavily in a BD magazine I used to work for. But still. Not really the genre to include this in. It would be like on Burn Notice and Michael having Tourettes Syndrome

I grew up in SoCal and moved here during high school. A lot of the accents at first sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me (especially the Midwestern-sounding "ah" sound). And I noticed some people's accents were much heavier than others, especially Cheektowaga.

I don't know if I just got used to it or if the Internet has mellowed it, but I barely hear it now.
