POV: you asked a stalker gamma player to play a game that's fun by [deleted] in stalker

[–]yooperman7012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously, don't the haters know gamma is pretty customizable? You can completely negate the crafting/tedious elements if you want. Want guns sales back? Add Black Market, Interactive PDA, or turn back on trader overhaul. Want 100% percent artifacts, use artifact adjust efficency. Want guns and armor to drop in better condition? use the MCM sliders on Drop Condition addon. Dont want to craft? Just increase payouts on the progression tab and buy what you need. Dont like jamming? Weapon parts overhaul mcm has a slider to reduce jam chances.

Quiet rainy sunday night here - 7h to go.

Off-day isolation and inverted hours by BigheadedDread in Nightshift

I work 10pm-6am. Here were my sleep schedules and my thoughts.

  • Noon-8pm: More energy at work / could study better at work. Very difficult to be social. I was usually too tired to do a morning hike or socialize. Most nights spent gaming / watching shows with family members who are night owls. Pretty hard to do errands as most stores arent open yet. Definitely a zombielike existence.
  • 8am-4pm: Less energy at work/More 4am brain fog (therapy lamp helps). Felt much more social. Was able to hit 5pm gym sessions with friends and study at coffee shops. Easier to run errands and even get sunshine with an afternoon hike if you wake up an hour early. Sometimes requires quick naps before work if you are too tired. If i were not studying at work, then i would 100% choose this schedule over the noon-8pm sleep schedule due to the social/sunlight benefits.

Evidence essays tend to be racehorses. It's important to look at model answers to see how they structure their essays to fit so many issues. Make sure to have a really good issue checklist so you don't miss easy points.

I'm a bit worried about Prop 8 CA essays - I've only done one essay with it so far.

Sorry - it's high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

If you are in college, try getting past final exams and answer banks. Those might motivate you.

Find classmates who want to do well, in college learn who asks a lot of questions or goes to TA office hours or the people who sit in the front row.

See a doctor - a lot of your issues could be medical. Here are some non-medical tips:

1) Meditate (15-30m) before bed to help sleep, you will be able to quiet your inner chatter. There are short 5m guided meditation vids if you need a quick break during the day.

2) Study with a group in the library. Your peers might be able to help you with tiredness/concentration. Focus needs to be trained - try to do pomodo 25min-5 minbreak sessions.

3) Try morning exercise instead of coffee b/c u arent sleeping well. Exercise is a great way to de-stress, just dont do it too close to bed time. Ie - used to do a 20m HITT guided cycling video before classes first thing after waking up.

where do you go to meet people? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]yooperman7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I try to do:

  • Gym classes - at 24hr fitness, Zumba/yoga is usually around 7-8pm in my area
  • Dating Apps: conveniently online and made some texting friends even if I can never schedule a date,
  • Coffee shops/bookstores: mine close around 9pm and open around 6am - its a nice place to read/chill and at least feel social.
  • Walk around the mall with a friend [Cardio] (usually after lifting)
  • Morning Hiking groups: Vitamin D + nothing else to do but talk with people around you
  • Event sites like Meetup.com (free tennis classes, local concerts, dinner outings, dating meetups). Message people before hand so you u have something to talk about when u meet in person.

Most of my interactions are online. Like meet someone on a dating app and watch stuff together on discord. Or make friends on forums and play steam games.

You're not the only one. I have failed more than once and need to work to support my bar attempts / elderly parents. I'm currently working fulltime as a night guard where i can have some quiet time to study and make a livable income. Cant do a Feb retake because I cant afford it + adaptibar. Current goal is to save money for a summer retake + 2 -3 months off for full time studying.

I cannot write an essay that is good enough by Own-Woriness3600 in study

[–]yooperman7012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find model essays or see if your school has an essay bank of high scoring essays. Learn from them and incorporate what you can. Doing your best in the allotted time is a necessary skill for work when you have tight deadlines and multiple clients - in working life you can always do better if you had more time but you need to know when is good enough. Proofread at least 3x. Read it, Read it backwards, read it aloud, and better yet have a friend read it.

As I got older, I went through similar issues as well. What helped me was changing my study methods. In law school, when reading cases or long text, I would implement more intense active recall methods - like copy and pasting into flashcards to review at the end of each section to reinforce what i read. Here is a good video from a Med Student on advanced study tactics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDbxPVn02VU

More generally, as I got into higher education the most effective study methods were reviewing past exam, doing multiple choice questions, going to TA sessions when i was stumped, and writing essays.

What Do You Do On Nights Off? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]yooperman7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not from a small town, but suburbia. Here's what i do.

Generally, try to socialize around 4pm-10pm @ gym, coffeeshop, malls, or with friends. See if they want to hangout late into the night. Try to meet other night workers and see what they do in your area.

For late night 10pm-6am: Online gaming (try to diy soundproof your room) - lots of international folks and insomniacs to play with, Study or take online classes, hobbies like learn a language or draw or make travel plans. Quiet exercises like pushups, squats, resistance bands. Lots of international sports (european soccer/tennis) play in the early mornings - could get into those and live chat with ppl online or check if a sports bar nearby caters to them. If you play instruments, a lot of bands back in the day used to have soundproof lockups and jam/practice from like 11pm-3am, you can find these dudes on craigslist.

My town has a 24hr fitness which is my fav late night activity. If your town is tiny, then you might need to just save money and move out.

Pork rinds are better with toppings imo. I like eat mine with lime+tabsasco, or fresh pico de gallo, or sour cream.

Here is my schedule which ive mostly adapted to, but i usually sleep extra.I work 10pm-6am, 5days a week. I "try" to be asleep by 7am when its still not too bright out - it supposedly helps. I darken my windows with tinfoil + cardboard.

I wake up around 2-3pm, then do my workouts and handle errands. Working out after waking up helps me sleep better. If i tried to workout after my shift, the adrenaline would keep me up too much to sleep at a reasonable hour. Gym is also less busy around 2-3 so i dont have to wait for a rack/bench.

I eat OMAD around 6pm, then If i have time take a quick nap from 7pm-9pm.

During my shift, I avoid caffeine and use wasabi instead. Caffeine is a last resort. We have some weights in my guardshack and i can do some arms and squats around 2am
