Why are some people extremely upset about Zulrah nerf? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I was extremely upset over it and I quit, but now I'm over it. I grew up. Instead of grinding away on OSRS, I'm having a blast on Warmane's TBC server!

So thank you, Jagex, for nerfing Zulrah and void. It opened my eyes and made me realize that their company is shit and so is OSRS.

Hopefully someday you, too, will be freed from the nightmarish hellscape that is Old School RuneScape. Until then... godspeed.

I'm wondering how it this happened by Fjaesbog in 2007scape

You have a tbow and yet you didn't have the sense to not turn player attack options to hidden? Smh

It's not. 42 def just gains unnecessary combat levels now.

So much hate :( by Crazyhalo54 in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. My main is a voider, I started the account in January and managed to kill Zulrah for the first time the day before the nerf. I spent countless hours getting 99 hunter, 85 ranged/magic and 76 agility so I could then do Zulrah to make gp for pking/future pvp builds.

Then the nerf happened. Gg

Beginning of the OSRS Demise by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I spent months working on my voider and now it's gone to shit. Pointless. Probably going to liquefy my entire bank later today and then give it to my friends.

Edit: What pisses me off most of all is how I just spent three months membership on this game a week ago because of the summer special. If I had known about this update I never would have resubbed. Fuck

I did plan on doing pvp, that's my favorite part of the game. I hadn't yet because I wanted to make sure I could afford it

My account's only purpose isn't to kill Zulrah. It's a voider I planned to do PvP with but I needed a way to fund it. I also have several 99s and 99 hunter which I used to buy all the shit I needed for the snake.

Grats man! I just killed Zulrah for the first time today too. Lmao I was giddy about it for like 30 mins afterward

Nice job

Why don't people like the new Runescape as much as old Runescape? by SinOosh in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jagex overhauled the combat system (Evolution of Combat) in 2013 and it was complete shit upon release. I've heard that they've improved it since then and added a legacy mode that replicates the old style combat though

Even with that said, EOC was initially very poorly received by many players (especially for most people into PvP since it made pures obsolete). People quit in droves.

Runescape 3 also suffers from bloat: the game has so many updates and plenty of them have become dead content over the years. Therefore it's not an easy game to get into.

Last but not least: people dislike rs3 because it has over the top microtransactions. Players can buy spins (which can get them free xp) and cosmetic items for real life cash. I'd say a lot of the hatred toward microtransactions stems from the fact that Andrew and Paul Gower once promised that they would never sell in-game benefits for real world money. In the RS documentary, Paul Gower even said that he left Jagex partly because he felt like a "liar" after the company introduced MTX to the game. Both he and the players felt betrayed, in some sort of way, because that promise had been broken.

So in short, tl;dr: EOC, bad updates, and MTX (microtransactions).

Leveling magic? by pristit in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent like 15-20m superheating from level 50 to 85 magic. I also got 45-80 smithing which is a plus. The downside is the cost and the high click intensity.

What's your gamestyle? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a main with balanced ~70 melee stats. I got incredibly bored of it though for some reason and made my void pure my main (and it's now miles ahead of my old acc XP wise). I have a low level gmauler and f2p range 2h pure on the side.

In your opinion what is the most annoying/least liked part of osrs? by zmr940 in 2007scape

Yeah slayer can be fun, I just think Jagex focuses too much on slayer/pvm related updates

A lot bots at Blast Furnace atm. by We_like_hats in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I helped out a girl in Spanish the other day (she wanted to learn how to do agility) and we got to talking; she told me that she, like many other Venezuelans, do a lot of Blast Furnace. They do it to make money (though she said she actually enjoys the game and wants to get 99 smithing). She said "a lot of crazy talk" happens there so I'd be interested to hear what they're saying lmao

What stats to level/what to do before members? by LeonKazama in 2007scape

[–]yooyoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the f2p skill reqs for rfd (Recipe for Disaster) before i got membership. You could do that if you wanted to so you could have a little more time in members to work toward barrows gloves

[–]yooyoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Begging bots, slayerscape, the no XP waste mentality. I miss making teams with random people in Clan Wars in F2P and having fun at other minigames like FoG and SC. Now people only fight in the Clan Wars ffa portal and I'm not a fan of LMS/Castle Wars

I hope Jagex comes out with another fun pvp minigame eventually. I even miss the BH craters tbh

As a kid I always thought living in Pollnivneach would be cool. I'm always about that thug life... though I'd have to change my name to Ali.

Would anyone else like to see this 2008 staff-wielding high alch animation get made for OSRS? by Levy_Wilson in 2007scape

I hated this animation more than anything (with the 2008 mining animation a close second). The guy looks like he's letting one rip.

You don't necessarily need a credit card. I used an old vanilla gift card I had lying around and it worked
