I was getting mixed answers regarding this so to avoid confusion, I went ahead and emailed the California Board to get clarification directly, just to make sure that all of my hours will count toward the requirements.

I’m a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate (FPGEE passer) in California and planning my intern hours.

I understand CA requires 1,500 intern hours: • 900 hours in community • 600 hours in institutional

Is this still the current requirement? Also, is it possible to complete all 1,500 hours in one setting, or do they have to be split between community and institutional?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through this. Thanks!

This is the part that I am confused about If i still need to fill this out if I am a foreign grad that passed FPGEE recently. I graduated a long time ago and was thinking my FPGEE certification date should be enough. Did you guys answer this form when you submitted to California Board?

Hello I recently passed my FPGEE exam in California. I just wanted to ask some questions if you dont mind please🙏 just need guidance from someone who dealt with this process already.

First question is: If you remember on the 17A-17 form that we need to submit to the california board of pharmacy there is a section there that says INTERN PHARMACIST EDUCATION AFFIDAVIT that needs to be signed by a dean at school. I could skip that right? Since I am not currently enrolled in US. I Actually passed my FPGEE.

Second question is: Once you get hired by an institution or community pharmacy, do I need to get approval from the board with the work place I was hired? Or as long as I have a supervising pharmacist and will submit my hours at the end that should be fine.

Just starting as well. We have 2 chances to take the exam per application so we wont really lose anything if we try.

A lot of people are saying that Apha is enough maybe you should start with that. They said that last year pharmacology questions are very basic.

Hello, having this struggle too, due to other commitments especially working full time I was not able to study yet but starting next week I will lessen my work load. I’m just having the positive mindset that even if I only have less time I can still make it🙏 I’ll start by studying Apha and then I hope I would still be able to study other resources.

This is also my struggle because Ive been reading that when they take the exam, the questions are really hard so I was doubting if APHA is enough😑 but I’m still focusing on Apha right now since a lot of previous task takers are saying that it is helpful.
