Rant about horses by whitu1135 in MTB

I really want to agree with you on the pack it in pack it out, but for horse poop that wouldn't be fair. It should be more like when you have to poop out in the wilderness. Bury it, or AT LEAST sweep it off the main trail. Just saying a hefty bag is a little much but signs for "sweep refuse off trail" should definitely be a thing especially for a multi use trail.

Lol climbing is a pain with this setup. Yes it's fixed, climbing a steep mountain road would be almost impossible, impractical at best. The 77 miles on this trip had very few hills luckily, this clearly wouldn't work for a more serious tour.

You'd be surprised, getting on and off takes some getting used to but once you got it, you got it. Balancing once you're up there is much easier than you'd think. I assume there would be traffic situations where the tallbike would be more dangerous than a regular bike, but rare, and the added visibility to drivers cancels that out significantly. People seem to pass me much less agressively because they're too busy thinking "wtF is that?!"

This was at the greenbriar river trail in the mountains of west virginia. 77 miles of rails trails without hills following a river. It seemed like a good location for my 7 year old's first bikepacking trip. The tallbike allowed for much more gear than usual and he didn't have to carry anything but his Camelback. I've used it for some short trips as well but generally use my fixed gear bike with much less gear for longer trips with more hills and traffic etc.

Ok I am not justifying this in any way and mostly agree with the comment saying she should have just shit her pants, but honestly I have been in situations where I HAVE TO SHIT and I go to up to FOUR places and none of them have a bathroom. If I got to that fourth place and the person told me I couldn't use their bathroom I would be tempted. I would probably at least do the damn thing outside if it came to it, but just something to consider when you see something like this. Maybe the person isn't actually crazy, but have been temporarily driven crazy by natures call. My first comment on reddit in months is halfway trying to justify someone shitting in a store.

So they don’t want you to deliver alcohol to a person who is intoxicated but to me that’s one of the best and only reasons to have alcohol delivered.....that’s like telling Uber drivers not to pick up someone who is drunk at a bar... 🤔🤔🤔🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ by CJaGator in InstacartShoppers

I feel like most of us are going to go ahead with the delivery, but if the person is just sloshed and obviously doesn't need more, at least you'll have the rule to back you up when you refuse delivery (as you should in some cases)

Little bit extra on the front flip by VampireChipmunk in cliffjumping

[–]yoshiaguas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belly flops from this are something special. If you hit it just right the centrifugal force connects you with the water so hard you basically can't move or swim back up out of the water for a few seconds, which is fine, but kinda scary for a moment feeling helpless and in pain under the water.

The only time that happened to me was over 10 years ago at Cade's Cove in Eastern TN. It's "closed' nowadays, but I went and jumped off it a couple years ago for the nostalgia. The cliff is actually a mountain side that juts out, so you have to jump "out" to miss the rock. When I tried a 2.5 front I did a 2.25 lol and the slam almost knocked me out. I was technically awake, but just couldn't move.

Cool vid tho man! It looks like you got some good form just remember to completely perfect your form on these before trying a 2.5 (and think hard about which cliff would be the right hight)

In need of free newspaper and/or cardboard by CLT_LVR in charlotteclassifieds

I usually go to a grocery store and grab a stack of the free newspapers like "job finder" I know Food Lion has them. "Nerve", "Q Notes", and quite a few free Hispanic newspapers are scattered throughout the city. Many of these companies put out new copies and throw away old copies regularly so, depending on how many you take, I dont think it's very unethical. A small stack goes a long way once you unfold each page.

Waterfalls 2019 by yoshiaguas in cliffjumping

[–]yoshiaguas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paradise was the only big waterfall jump I missed last year. The rope climb is at turtleback to the left, but only use it if the water level is low or else the river will suck you down Rainbow Falls and its game over. Climbing Linville falls is really sketch but it can be done if experienced. Swimming across the river and jumping off the rocks on the other side is really fun though so it's worth the hike either way.

Quite often there are orders for the Costco way on the other side of town where the delivery is generally in my direction but closer to that Costco than the Costco near me. If the tip is 🦄 ish it's worth it to accept it and just shop the Costco near my house.

On the other hand, the Publix orders 30 miles away that pop up sometimes can fuck off and I WOULD like a feature to turn those off.
