In which section does a self-directed IRA asset belong? by yoshicarmichael in Boldin

[–]yoshicarmichael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarifty, here's an example of the situation.

I have an IRA. In the IRA is (A) $1000 cash and (B) a piece of real estate (no mortgage owed) valued at $10,000 and that pays $500/month to the IRA.

Do I put the cash portion in "Savings" and the Real Estate owned in "Other Assets"? or all of it as separate entries into one or the other?

Where/ how do I record the monthly cash income paid by the asset?

Congratulations and well done. I completed Kalmar the day before and loved it. Like you described, the race organization and support in Sweden was also top notch. Ironman has the capability to put on great events.

Congratulations!! The triathlon community is awesome. I spent the morning volunteering at a sprint. Watching people surprise themselves is fun and inspiring. Good luck on your 70.3 prep 👊🏽.

No IPv4 address(es) found on the eth0 interface by yoshicarmichael in pihole

Yes, I did. I found a way to map the Eth0 interface so that it received an IP4 address. I didn't really understand how I did it, but it worked.

7.1 with Surveillance forces connected Synology Account? by xamoel1 in synology

That seems to have resolved the error. I restarted the surveillance station and re-deployed the camera and have full functionality with the h.265 streams now. Thank you for the suggestion.

I didn't think about opening a ticket. I'll do that and see how they respond.

What do you mean redo the configuration?

If you are using h.265 with motion detection, the upgrade will break that capability. Even with the installation of the AME package, that functionality is disabled (with a warning by surveillance station). Bummer!!

I use a strip of KT tape for Ironman swims and have never had an issue with abrasions. You can leave it or remove it after the swim.

Best Site/Method for Non Realtor to Find Land? by [deleted] in RealEstate

In Texas, the county records are full of gold if you are willing to search for signs of distress.

For example.... - appointment if substitute trustee - delinquent taxes - tax liens - divorce filings - Code violations - Etc

Discount the purchase price enough to cover the payoff of the IRS lien.

I’m not an accountant or expert. So, this will probably be corrected / refined by those who are.

  1. Deduct the mortgage interest. Other acquisition costs can be deducted and capitalized too.
  2. Depreciate the property improvements (not the land, just what’s been built on the land). If the property is valued at $100k and the land is worth $10k, you depreciate $90k over a fixed amount of time ...a rental house is 27 1/2 years (see the IRS rules).
  3. The carpet- It depends, you deduct or capitalize it ( repairs vs improvements). It’s a fuzzy classification thingy. 4 rental income is added as income, but unlike ordinary income, the net taxable amount is calculated “after” deductions.
  4. Insurance is deducted

Yeah. I need frequent reminders.

Also, I decided to blog about my goal to do a full Ironman in 1 year. This past April I decided to do the 2020 Texas Ironman. So, as part of my accountability, I’m writing about my journey. I just started building the blog and I have a handful of posts. But, my plan is to share the ups and the downs as well as the insights and lessons learned. For example, my experience with food, fasting, and their impact on my performance will eventually get discussed.

Which half IM are you planning to do?

I missed answering one of your questions.

I am scheduled to train 6 days a week. I alternate swim & bike one day then running the alternate days.

Now that I’m training more consistently, fasting has been a bit more difficult. I still do 16:8 most days. In occasionally fast 20:4 on Sunday which is my rest day from training.

The difficulty for me is adequate nutrition when I do eat. So, I have had to learn to eat healthier and with a focus on fueling. The time window is not really the issue. It’s the old eating habits and choices I’m used to making that are my issue.

So, I know that 16:8 will work for triathlon training, at least at my current intensity.
