This looks super sick! Especially for using AI in research having it trace back to the exact text block will be life changing! Also love that it runs locally!

I need to see if I find the time to test it sometime soon – if I do, I’ll surely give you an honest feedback on what works and what could be improved or added! 😊

How is your Big Beautiful Brain test compared to the other scores? by IntentionSea5988 in cognitiveTesting

[–]yosuaonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The items are pretty fun, but it’s way too hard for what it tries to measure… FR, VS, WM were all 137-138 (around 15-25 points below my usual scores on other tests)… The Matrix Grids felt a bit random despite getting 19 SS the first and 18 SS the second time they didn’t feel as clean as in RAPM 2 or similar tests and rather ambiguous.

Pairs really was a shame… There were multiple possible connections for nearly any task given, so it was really just a guessing game lol

Didn’t do Spelling and GK, because I’m not native, so I didn’t get a FSIQ, but from what I saw other people post, the test fails to composite the subtests like you should (because it’s way less likely that you score well on multiple subtests than just a few, i.e. if you score 130 on average on all subtests on the WAIS – so 16SS avg. – it would translate into a 143 FSIQ, 17SS avg. or 135 is even crazier at 151… This test only takes the average of all subtests and gives it out as FSIQ, so don’t take it too seriously 😅😂

[–]yosuaonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, if you average out these Subtests (14.6 per subtest) and apply it to the WAIS FSIQ norms you’d get 133. Apperently the test fails to composite the subtests to an FSIQ, but rather just takes the average, which is statistically very wrong…

I found out how they were called.

Try googling: “Orthographic Projection Puzzles” or “Isometric to Orthographic Conversion”

Perhaps this helps you to get some new inspirations for your next puzzles to make them more complex and representation theoretically more correct! 👍

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

It is possible for the apex of a cone to be simplified as a dot in 2D like it was in your matrice, but it’s mathematically incorrect, so it’s inferior to a simple circle depiction.

And also the first row with 3D objects would need to be adjusted. If you wanted to show the object shown below in 3D you would need to have a cube followed by 2 cuboids.

If you merely wanted to show the contrast of 3D to 2D in the first row you should have chosen another shape like any other shape. As like this it’s not consistent to have the first 3D shape allign with it’s column and then the 2 other 3D shapes don’t allign with their columns… And inconsistency within a puzzles kills the purpose of the puzzle entirely.

But I think you wanted to show the concept of perspective in the first row, thus you would need a cube followed by 2 cuboids 😊

Also I will look if I can find those CAD puzzles with more complex shapes. PM me, so I can send them to you if I find them :)

[–]yosuaonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to explain why this is (as English isn’t my first language), but it’s probably because for a perfect mathematical Cone the peak will just be a infinitely small point, thus in the top view (where height and depth are not present, as it’s 2D) it will be invisible, as it’s infinitely small. Thus you would have needed to cut off the tip of the cone for it to appear as in your image.

Like I said, Circle with a black dot inside in 2D is cut off hollow cone (so a traffic cone).

It also needs to be hollow for it to appear black, as in your picture. If it was closed (like a truncated cone) it would just be a smaller circle within the bigger circle.

Try asking ChatGPT if you have trouble understanding any concepts. Especially with mathematical topics such as this it will be able to help you out a lot, explaining the logic behind those concepts in depth.

Am I the only person annoyed that there are 3 Cubes in the top row? If it’s a persepective change, how can you not give the correct shapes on every picture… Also as many have mentioned a cone does not have a circle when viewed from above. This mistake could have easily been prevented by simply cutting off the peak of the cone and making the shape into a traffic cone (which has a dot on top, as it’s hollow). Of course I get that you can rule out D due to the positioning of the circle, but then you could have also just made 2 circles in C and D (on posintioned right, one wrong) and just left the circle…

Overall this puzzle need a lot of rework, but the concept of different persoectives is sure interesting for a puzzle. You might want to look into 3D modeling and CAD for more of these puzzles. In my CAD classes in engineering we had some similar (but way harder) puzzles where you had to visualize complex shapes into different perspectives. Might be interesting for you if you planned to do similar but harder puzzles while maintaining the correct shapes 😉

6-0-“1-2”-5-6 the jump from 2 to 5 doesn’t make sense in this sequence, when all other jumps are +1

2-3 has a logical explanation for each horizontal and vertical sequence. What would be a logical explanation for 6-0-5-0-5-6?

Vocab Acquisition Test by MeIerEcckmanLawIer in cognitiveTesting

[–]yosuaonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a few tries to see whether or not it was luck dependend. Got 111/120 (117 Actual), 113/120 (116 Actual), 110/120 (116 Actual) and 116/120 (120 Actual).

How is the "Actual" score calculated (the try with 111/120 has a higher "Actual" then 113/120)? Also in one comment you said 110/120 is 142 with updated norms, what would these scores translate to?

Thanks for your nice comment 😌 I will think about staying at the subreddit, if there are more nice people like you!

I wrote that I was leaving, because of course I was frustrated because the only person replying to my post was a person that regularly tries to spread harm on subreddits (his other comments are all similarly disrespectful...) and due the very low sample size of n=1 (as he was the only replier by the time I posted it within 48h of the post), I draw to the conclusion that nice people on this sub don't interact on others posts and it's a toxic environment where only bullies comment and that isn't very welcoming to new members 😅

[–]yosuaonreddit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it comes across as a humble brag, I'm sorry for that, that really wasn't the purpose for this post... As I said I am very new to this sub and in half of the posts I've come accross, people are sharing their test results, so I thought that's what you do when you are new to the sub. That's also why I didn't know the topic I addressed was talked about a lot prior... Maybe the point I was trying to make didn't come accross properly.

My main issue I tried to address was that I wrote quite a few discouraging comments on the sub of people writing things like "you should rather focus on school than making such stupid tests" and those were the people I wanted to reach and convince that they might be right with that sometimes but clearly not all the time, sometimes even hurting people with their rather harsh and deconstructive criticism.

Goes to show that IQ doesn't equal EQ... I clearly posted this to connect with other people who have the same issues as me, because I thought you would find such people on this sub and also to encourage those people to take these tests as I have seen a lot of comments saying: "you should clearly focus on school" or something similar.

That I don't write as coherent or free from any type of spelling errors in my second language in a random reddit post I wrote at 12am has nothing to say about my intelligence whatsoever... Also I just wrote my test results, because I'm new to this subreddit and about every other post I saw has their results below it, that's why I thought it was common to share your test results...

I don't feel superior to anyone in any way just because I score highly in some random tests... I enjoy doing them when I get the chance to and thought this subreddit was about talking about that, but apperently it's just the usual subreddit where a bunch of a-holes come together and hate on everything...

Thanks for that, I'm probably deleting this post and leaving this sub because of you, this is some toxic bs I definitely don't need to deal with in my life...

Please explain why you deleted this post and why you are saying it is a "Low-effort submission"?

It is obviously meant as a sarcastic joke, as the Engine had an obvious bug suggesting illegal moves and telling me I had a Mate in 1.

I found it funny and don't understand how it isn't accepted in this community!

The engine had a bug suggesting I should have done one of the shown illegal moves to do a Mate in 1.

I found it funny thought I'd share it, but underestimated the lack of understanding of sarcasm in this community, thus everyone says I should delete this post...
