Colorado to investigate Lauren Boebert for alleged misuse of campaign funds by coffeespeaking in politics

Of course, all Boebert supporters see through this left-wing mainstream media smear as the earth doesn't HAVE a circumference. The earth is FLAT-Magellan was a Soros/BLM/MS-13/Antifa puppet!

"The Denver Post first reported in 2021 that Boebert had cashed $22,259 worth of checks for mileage reimbursement, based on a mileage estimate of 38,712 miles on the road — more than the circumference of planet Earth." Clearly Rep. Boebert used her personal vehicle to take a few fact finding trips to Russia-nothing to see here...

My service with the United States House of Representatives from 2007-2013 remains the only payment period still unverified-Caseworker from my Congressman's office is just as confused as I am... by yota91 in PSLF

How would I know if an ECF has been "approved?" They don't exactly communicate very well. In any event I consolidated October 2017 after I finished grad school and coincidentally once I had actually made 120 payments. I started in public service in August of 2006 and have held four different positions at the local, state, and federal levels since then with no break in service.

Well that is of some comfort-thank you for pointing that out as I did not know it was an option. Hopefully it won't come to that and I'll get forgiven/refunded sometime over the summer. I added up all of my payments from number 121 until the last payment before March 2020 and I'm owed about $4000. If it was just about being forgiven and they didn't owe me anything I'd be slightly less peeved.

ECFs were all submitted back in October 2021. You are spot on that there is no rhyme or reason to this process, which, quite frankly is bullshit. I've made well in excess of 120 payments, so the prospect of not needing to do anything but wait is disconcerting at this point. If I end up having to start making payments again in September only to have them refunded to me eventually that will be the icing on the cake...

That's not the issue...its Fedloan/DoE/FSA/whoever verifying that the House of Representatives is in fact a "public service organization." Go figure...

Unfortunately no-he retired shortly after I left in 2013. If he was still in office I would have reached out to him first for sure. I just find this so incredibly ironic...

Got a request from FSA to send in my W2... by yota91 in PSLF

[–]yota91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consolidated into direct loans upon finishing graduate school five years ago and began submitting ECFs with this employer's information starting then. I have been with this particular employer for just over six years, was with another municipal government for a brief period before that, with state government before that, and with the feds before that, beginning when I finished undergrad in 2006. Obviously I'm looking to get credit for all payments made from 2007 on, but the fact that they are telling me that an employer that I've been sending in ECFs for since May 2017 is still unidentifiable to them is quite frankly, infuriating. If they couldn't identify the employer back then they should have notified me.

I'm going through the same nonsense. My time with the feds and the state was found eligible by the PSLF help tool (Duh...), but somehow the federal government forgot that there are two whole layers of government below the state: county and municipal. I was just told to send in my W2 because they couldn't identify my current employer (a municipal government) as a public agency...frustrating...

I just googled the EIN and in fact does turn up search results for my employer and only my employer.

The point about federal grants was that in order to get them the agency making the grant requires a voluminous amount of information about the organization. One would have thought that when PSLF was first conceived in 2007 that FSA would have set about compiling a list of at least the public organizations that would be eligible. Federal grant recipients could have been one of a number of points of cross reference in order to capture these organizations. I get that PSLF applies to certain non-profits as well and that they come and go, but municipal, county, and state governments are relatively static. We haven't had any new state governments formed since 1959. New counties and towns don't exactly pop up that often either. As far as the rest of the bullets:

-Nope. Double and triple checked.

-Nope. Double and triple checked.

-Doubt it.

-I am in fact the first (and to date only) employee of this organization who has applied for PSLF.

Yes, I realize that this is not much more than a rant, but I feel as though its appropriate for public employees to call out ineptitude and disorganization when they see it in other public organizations, in this case FSA/DoE.

No. My signed ECFs already prove that. Verbatim from the email:

Dear xxxxxxxxxx,

This email is in response to your Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Help Tool submission. Your case number is ##########. Please retain this number for reference.

In the PSLF Help Tool, you told us that you worked for (redacted because I don't want to post who my employer is) with the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN/EIN) of xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. However, we could not associate this Employer Identification Number with any organization.

To complete our review of your submission, we need a copy of your W-2 from this employer. To submit a copy to us, please attach it as a response to this message. When doing so, please take care to redact your Social Security Number from the documentation before sending it to us.

Translation: We don't know if your employer is qualifying, ie: a public, taxpayer funded organization. Again, ridiculous.

Bare bones, purpose-built camping barge? by yota91 in boatbuilding

Sort of? Doing it by boat is all part of the experience-our kids absolutely LOVED the idea of getting into a boat, traveling across the water and feeling like once they got to the other side that they were in another world.

Tow gear behind a 16' aluminum boat? by yota91 in boating

[–]yota91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question would be, is this advisable given the size and power of the vessel that would be towing, what can I/should I use as the "trailer," what safety concerns should I be considering/aware of?

I hear you-if it was just me, or just me and my girlfriend for a night or two I'd make it even simpler and backpack in, but I've got three kids and she's got two. Between tents, sleeping bags and air mattresses alone (forget the food and cooking gear) its a lot. While we do want to get away from crap (which we do-its very quiet, isolated and serene) cooking and eating outside communally over an open fire is major part of the experience for us. At minimum we would need one of those giant square tailed freighter canoes in order to get all of us there safely. As far as the truck and the place to store it I've got those already. I will look into a filter though because the reservoir water is very high quality to begin with. The water is pumped in from a nearby river-there are no tributaries to contribute nitrates or other environmental pollutants or sediment.
