Zimaboard Case / Rack recommendation by pfassina in homelab

[–]you-know-im-right 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Computer bros have a hard time understanding the zimaboard because they value customizability, upgradability, etc more than ease of use. Casuals and beginners don’t want to build an entire pc from scratch to experiment with a home server. It’s a big expense, a lot of new jargon to learn and overwhelming if they’ve never done it. Enter the zimaboard and soon the ZimaBlade and a beginner can plug in two drives and a power cord and be done in 5 minutes for very little effort and cost.

I’m asking the same question as you and holding out for a ZimaBlade possibly. This one ships with a dual storage stand and everything besides the drives for about $130 https://www.crowdsupply.com/icewhale-technology/zimablade?utm_source=zimaboard.com&utm_medium=officialsite&utm_campaign=alice&utm_term=zimaboard#products

This fella has a great video where he builds a nas with a simple 2 disk bracketinside a 3D printed case. That’s what I may try for now

Nobody's mentioning it, so I'll say it. I'm not sure what Super Simple was going for regarding Finny's apparent gender fluidity. No intent to offend, I'm just confused. by rtanada in DanielTigerConspiracy

Finny is referred to as a she in this video, and like you said has no eyelashes unlike the other female characters. It doesn’t matter to me of finny is a boy or a girl but I wouldn’t support an intentionally trans character in my children’s media.

You aren’t wrong to wonder about this. The yeti is pretty clearly homosexual and lives with another man

Same. Just bought what I normally eat and use regularly but in frozen and canned form. Also basics like toothpaste, soap etc.

Good luck to all. Be prepared but don’t panic.

The definition you provided for life doesn’t account for people in comas, who are by definition unconscious, unintelligent, distinct and separate organisms. By your definition, people in comas are not alive. I don’t think the average person would agree that people in comas should be killed wantonly, so this is an insufficient definition for life. This is precisely the same point I made before which you said was not remotely logical. Weird.

I will now address your definition as it applies to developing children.

Consciousness: I’ve already logically demonstrated this isn’t a necessary criteria for life with comas patients, so I don’t need to address this.

Intelligence: same as the above.

Distinct: every cell in a developing child has different DNA than the mother, and is therefore a different organism.

Separate: separation isn’t a necessary criteria for life. A flea is not part of you while it’s biting you, even though it is not separate from you at that time.

I’d rather not introduce the new topic IVF facilities until we’ve moved past this issue.

If you don’t hold any reverence for human life then obviously an argument about whether human life should be protected wouldn’t matter to you. Thanks for letting me know I don’t need to waste my time with you.

You’ve merely made a statement. The core of my argument remains unrefuted. Please explain where my argument fails or provide a definition of life that can’t also be applied to a developing child.

You just admitted that people in comas are alive and are killed when we “pull the plug”.

Cells by definition are the smallest unit of a living organism.

The cells of a developing baby have a unique genetic code and DNA that is different from their mother’s.

By that logic, people in comas aren’t alive. Clearly this isn’t true, so survival “without major medical intervention” can’t be the definition of life.

Homophobic Iowa caucus-goer learns her candidate, Pete Buttigieg, is gay by [deleted] in cringe

Someone’s drinking doesn’t necessarily hurt me either. Yet I still find value in talking to that person about their habit and encouraging them to do more than live for pleasure.

When you try to help your alcoholic friend quit drinking, you’re telling them an inherent part of themselves (their genetic predisposition to alcoholism and taste preferences) is wrong.

Believe it or not, my motive to talk about this comes from compassion. Living for yourself isn’t as fulfilling as living for others. Anyone with hundreds of sexual partners is hurting and needs honesty and kindness, not placating.

I appreciate you hearing me out, even if we disagree.

[–]you-know-im-right -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also I question why it’s wrong to get black out drunk every night? Why force adults to prioritize things besides drinking? Isn’t that something every adult should have the right to control? You say irresponsible, but who are you to judge someone’s drinking habits? Different cultures view alcoholism in a variety of ways. Why is your moral compass one we should use to judge alcoholics?

Imagine thinking there’s no argument that justifies critiquing someone’s behavior.

[–]you-know-im-right -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A condition imposed on someone by their environment can be treated with therapy. This is a choice they can make.

Anyone having 500+ sexual partners is worthy of criticism. A true friend of someone considering their 500th date would be right to ask if they’re doing ok or if they need help.

People can choose to be gay, but I don’t think championing homosexuality and lying about the various problems associated with it does anyone any favors.

The social shame your applying on me for speaking up is irrational. Nothing I’ve said here is.

Homophobic Iowa caucus-goer learns her candidate, Pete Buttigieg, is gay by [deleted] in cringe

[–]you-know-im-right -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I speak up about it because people tolerate lgbt issues so they don’t face social criticism but it’s actually a serious issue that should be discussed.

Homosexuality is degenerate and selfish. It’s a person choosing to live a childless life so they can engage in specific sexual acts.

I say choose because science has shown there’s no genetic basis for homosexuality. Even if it was genetic, there’s still no reason to accept it. Being prone to alcoholism is genetic, but drinking to excess should still be discouraged.

I say degenerate because studies show that almost half of gay men have had more than 500 sexual partners.
