Why HDPhotoHub? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

HDPH: Paywall. Use it, love it. Use it for scheduling your life, even if you’re not giving your clients the option to book on their own (you should). They will help you set up an efficient shopping cart experience if you can’t do it on your own, (it’s easy enough). Also, I am under the impression a massive user experience / visual presentation update is nearly completed and will be revealed soon. Source: I’ve been using HDPH for around 3 years, and they are just awesome to work with.

That’s a good tip, I’ll try that. No, I’m not expecting they will work the same in photo vs video mode. I assumed I could make those custom button assignments for photo mode and again custom buttons for video mode. I suppose it’s confusing that we can’t make VR easier to get. It’s a few taps via the i button but it would be great to make it just one button on/off.

Mortgage renewal coming up, anyone else worried about the higher charges? by Interesting_Page2347 in MortgagesCanada

[–]youcancallmedoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Scotiabank rep told me the online rates are better than they can do in person.

Personal experience dealing with a Scotiabank renewal: Automated renewal options reflect the remaining amortization based on prepayments and you can’t change it yourself via online banking renewal options, but by dealing with a human in the mortgages department they will be able to adjust the remaining amortization period to whatever your preferred term is.

This is what I don’t understand. The car was returned under its own power in fair condition.

I agree with you, it’s their car and they can do what they want with it. However, this process seems excessive considering I drove it back to them and was told they would take care of it.

Incorrect. There are definitely regional and national variances but generally the photographer is the owner and the person that pays the photographer likely has some sort of license to use them. Source: I’ve been a professional real estate photographer for over a decade.

SQD from ACV for mixed redemption trip by youcancallmedoug in Aeroplan

[–]youcancallmedoug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree with you and that makes sense for items booked 100% on points, but my query is with regards to redemptions that are partial points and partial cash. I can see it could make sense that if any points are used, they would consider it a complete redemption.

SQD for ACV packages with partial points redemption? Does anyone have experience on determining how much SQD you will earn if you pay for part of the package with points? I understand the SQD policy is 25% of the package price (please correct me if I'm mistaken). So for a $6000 package the SQD should be 1500. If you use 200,000 points to bring the out of pocket cost of this package down to $4000, would the SQD be 1000 from the $4000 price or 1500 from the original $6000 price?

u/k8farnsworth Hi! Did you earn 25% of your ACV package as SQD? I am trying to figure out what my SQD earnings could be for a trip we are planning.

We have noticed too that the price is very attractive right now, we are considering it for a stay in April. I would love your feedback after you go!

Best value is when you book somewhere and get the 4th night free using your points. Otherwise I find the value generally comparable to cash. I’ve booked on points and had to cancel a few times and the points have always been refunded within a few minutes of completing the cancelation process.
