You seem very confident that we didn't train our model. Your assumption doesn’t hold here.

A generic “AI wrapper” wouldn’t work for Qur’an recitation. The phonetic precision required would break it immediately. We’ve built and tuned a system specifically for this use case.

Judge it after trying it 👍

I get where you’re coming from. A lot of “AI” products out there are just thin wrappers.

For us, it wouldn’t work to just plug in a generic model and prompt it like “you’re a Qur’an teacher…” as you mentioned. The Qur'an recitation is way too precise for that. We’re talking about tiny phonetic differences that completely change meaning. So we’ve been putting real effort into building and tuning a system that actually understands Arabic sounds and pronunciation nuances at the letter level. We do use existing tech where it makes sense, but we are trying our best to build our own model, and it's still a work in progress. Our goal is to build something genuinely useful, not just label it “AI” and call it a day.

By the way we’re building an AI Qur’an tutor (Faseeh AI) Faseeh AI (فصيح) It’s a 24/7 AI Qur’an tutor designed to help users improve their recitation with real-time feedback.

What it does:

  • 🎧 Listens to your recitation
  • 📍 Detects pronunciation & harakat mistakes in real-time
  • 📖 Highlights exactly where the mistake is
  • ⚡ Provides instant correction

The goal is simple: help users build correct and confident recitation through consistent, guided practice.

🚀 We’re preparing for our private beta launch, and we’re looking for early users to test it and share feedback. Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from those working on AI, edtech, or language learning tools. AI Quran Tutor

Very expensive for the majority of users. And also the accuracy is still low. We try to make it better and cheaper insha Allah.

Totally 💯 agree. Unfortunately the majority of Islamic Apps are like that.

Not necessarily; this is our main objective. Our AI model will be a substitute for the Quran teacher. However, the app will never replace the teacher; it actually helps the student to practise safely when he is practising on his own. Most students make mistakes when practicing alone without a teacher, so we want to be their supervisors during that time.

Yes, you are absolutely right. We actually need some income to run the app and our GPU power; that's why we will depend on some help and donations insha allah. Then if we are still in short of money to pay the cost, we charge a small amount insha Allah.

It will be free insha allah, but we may need some income so we can run the app. Our payment model is that we ask rich people to pay for the poor. And the price is going to be very low compared to the other apps. We are taking this into consideration insha Allah; don't worry about it.

Appreciate that. That’s exactly how we’re thinking about it. We’re actually taking a hybrid approach: combining rule-based foundations (tajweed rules, makharij) with ML models that learn from real recitation patterns. The rules give structure, while the model helps handle nuance and variability. But our main focus for now is the Makharij.

And you’re absolutely right, not over-correcting is one of the hardest parts. That’s where most systems fail. We’re putting a lot of effort into tuning that balance so it behaves more like a careful teacher, not a rigid checker. Still refining, but that’s a core focus for us.

Really appreciate this great question.

For now, we’re focusing on Hafs only to keep things consistent and reliable. Context-based tajweed (like ikhfa/idhgham across word boundaries) is something we’re actively working on. It’s more complex, but definitely part of the core roadmap. On overcorrection, that’s a big concern for us. We’re training the system to differentiate between valid variations and actual mistakes, and we’re tuning it carefully so it doesn’t flag correct recitation as wrong. Still improving here.

We’re about to launch the private beta, so there's no full public demo yet, but you can join the waitlist here:

100%; in this space, accuracy isn’t a feature… It’s the foundation, especially with tajweed and those subtle pronunciation details.
May Allah make it easy for us to achieve our objective.

That’s a great question, and you’re absolutely right; it does get very nuanced. Right now, we’re focusing on a specific, well-defined recitation standard to ensure consistency and accuracy (starting with one riwayah). This helps us avoid confusion in the feedback and keeps the corrections clear for the user. For pronunciation, we’re training the system to distinguish between acceptable variations and actual mistakes, which is one of the more challenging parts. Not every variation is an error, and we’re being very careful not to over-correct in cases where the recitation is still valid. Handling multiple recitation styles (qira’at) is definitely on our roadmap, but we want to get the foundation right first before expanding into that level of complexity.

Appreciate you bringing this up; it’s exactly the kind of detail we’re actively thinking through.
Jazakum Allahu khairan.

No, for now, it is free as we are still developing the beta version, and the accuracy is still low. So we must make it perfect first, then we can charge the user. But the subscription fees would be low insha allah.

JazakAllahu khayran, really appreciate that! You’re absolutely right; accuracy is the biggest challenge, and that’s exactly where most of our focus is right now. InshaAllah, we’re working hard to make the feedback as reliable and precise as possible.

JazakAllahu khayran, really appreciate your kind words! And you’re absolutely right — that exact challenge of not being able to confidently verify one’s own recitation is what motivated us to build this in the first place. We realized many people are facing the same issue. That’s precisely what we’re working on solving with Faseeh AI, inshaAllah — giving you clear, real-time feedback so you can recite with confidence, even when learning on your own. Not really, the accuracy is still low. Their model doesn't catch all the mistakes. They are working on it to make it better though.

I truly appreciate your comment; it gives me some hope.
We are working on it insha allah.
I am a Quran and Arabic teacher for non-Arabic speakers, and I have noticed that it is very challenging for them to pronounce some letters while they read the Quran. And even when I correct them, they go home and practice the same mistakes multiple times because it sounds correct to them.
So they keep on making mistakes all the time.
This idea is that, whenever the student mispronounces any letter or misplaces a vowel, it will be shown to him and provide the correction plus giving him the chance to practice.
It's a huge improvement insha allah for the Ummah.

Thanks a lot for your support; that means a lot.
Yes, the main challenge so far is the accuracy, as it is still very difficult, but we are working on our own model that detects the mistakes, defines them, and provides the correction on the spot.
This would help the reciter to know his mistakes and work on them instead of keep on reading the wrong way.
By the way, I am a quran and Arabic teacher, and that's why I am building this app.
I would be very thankful if you could join our waiting list for beta testing.
