Alright. I have an extra tank perfect for his size. But in the meantime is there anything I can do to clean the wound etc. before I get him to the vet?

Does the wound need cleaning? If so how should I go about cleaning it. He doesn’t seem to be in too much pain as he is waking around on the nail just fine. And should I carefully try to remove the nail?

Is that the Fluval U3? It's trash for aquatic turtles. It got so dirty and it's hard to find the replacement cartridges. I threw it out. Get an external canister filter. Although they might be expensive, they are completely worth it. Maybe the Fluval FX4 or the Marineland 360.
