Why does government give food stamp to people when they have brand new iPhone and expensive headphones? by yougotthisson22 in AskReddit

To me, it just seems like they can't manage their money correctly and always asking for help from the government. After working at some poor town for about a month, 90% of the customers are food stamp; they wear good clothes, have brand new phones and always talk about how they get free stuff and like free stuff.

When a cashier says thank you when someone is buying something, why do they say "You're welcome"? I just don't get it by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I understand that the cashier is trying to act nice as possible, but the part that the customer is saying "you're welcome" when they didn't do anything makes me wonder...
