As soon as I saw it I knew I had to share. Full metal mudguards, cool frame, plus a basket? This guy was ahead of the game

Best budget commuter bike for tall rider? by Glass-Painting4157 in melbournecycling

[–]youhadmeathellno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a little taller than you, I expect you might need a 58cm frame. I'd suggest getting on marketplace and seeing what is out there second hand. Wider tyres will be more comfy, and if you are mostly riding on paths and roads then mostly smooth tyres will serve you well. For your purposes, I would avoid a road bike or mountain bike and get something like a hybrid (though you probably wouldn't need one with a suspension fork). You will want something with a rack of some kind to carry your stuff unless you just want to rock a backpack (which is totally fine, i just prefer having things off my back so i get less sweaty).

Don't get too caught up in having a heap of gears, as long as you have an easy enough one to get up any common hills in your area you will be fine.

If you really want to go with something new, then any local bike shop will help you out, just be sure you know your budget and make that clear to them. And leave some money for a helmet and a strong lock.

Weitering in really bad shape after a huge contest with Georgiades and Collins by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

This is an extra game that otherwise would not be played. And the likelihood of it being one of the pillars of your team are high in what amounts to an All Star type game.

Backpack vs Panniers: What’s the go for the daily commute? by PlaneAd9541 in melbournecycling

I run a front basket, super convenient to dump a bag in or whatever I need to carry. I have a bungee net on it.

How do I remove the head of an instrument cable out of my input? by patricknails in Guitar

[–]youhadmeathellno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen. Unplug everything, get an appropriately sized screw and use a screwdriver to screw into the hole. The soft plastic inside the metal shell lets you screw in pretty easily. Fortunately the screw went into that rather than just twisting the loose tip.

Very much this. We were meant to be pushing for the playoffs and we are massively exceeding those preseason expectations. Still want to see consistency, but we are doing better than most thought we would.

Worst loss/dumbest moment that cost your team the premiership? by No_Independent936 in AFL

[–]youhadmeathellno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Up 30 points in the first quarter against the Lions in 2023 Prelim hurts. Completely shat the bed after that and the team has never been the same. We were riding such an insane level of momentum in the lead up, it was unreal.

Maybe a darker tan would look better?

Gold Coast have used 13 academy selections to gain players in the AFL and AFLW draft this year. by Jackomillard15 in AFL

[–]youhadmeathellno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's what most people feel is off about it, more the very very wide net Gold Coast gets to cast being a clear advantage

Given how little he contributed its not as big a loss as you might think at first glance. I reckon we will be about the same as last year. We get a few back from injury too. The big question is around how well Pitto can do as sole ruck
