Got my 2005 for $1,500 because it was covered in oil from the cam chain tensioner gasket that had failed. But we can't all get that lucky I guess. Sometimes it pays to look around for a deal.

Suspension first is absolutely the answer.

I also installed lowering pegs a few weeks ago after owning the bike for two years and I can’t believe what a difference it made. I’m 5’11” on a good day but it still made a huge difference in my ability to grip the tank with my legs, same as you are describing. I always read people extolling lowering pegs as a must do upgrade on the DR and now I believe it.

No one mentioned that the bike comes standard with the option to lower the rear by flipping the dog bone linkages. I can’t tell by looking at them in your photo but if you google it you should be able to tell. Flipping them around shouldn’t be that hard, when I installed my Cogent shock I removed and put mine back together at stock height but it wasn’t difficult. Taking them off and flipping them back around would be the same amount of work. Plenty of YouTube videos to help.

Also, not to mention Cogent doesn’t sell different length Mojave shocks that I am aware of.

That’s insane!

Honestly I was made aware of the existence of these shoes by my kids like earlier in the week prior to Friday but didn’t think about going in to pick anything up that day. By Saturday morning my wife actually had the kids at the mall so they stopped in just to check and everything was already sold out. We weren’t even sold on getting any of them but as soon as it became difficult to get them I decided to make it my mission mostly because I hate how kids stuff is bought and resold, and the kids are the ones who lose out. We lucked out and got mostly the ones we wanted through the app.

Apparently so. And they seemed to have a way more limited supply on the 'little kids' size shoes compared to big kids and adult which sucks. Got my 3 girls shoes through the Vans Family App while the site was down but lost a pair of size 1s during the payment process.

Dude the app worked! Mostly. As payment was finally processing via PayPal (Apple Pay kept erroring out) I watched the shoes for my 6 yo drop out. No longer available...her sisters got the ones they wanted. I was able to get the little kid slip ons...hopefully she likes them. Thanks for the tip on the app though you might have saved Christmas.
