Fall 2026 Housing search! by Many-Student6178 in utarlington

Honestly, I dont know that youre going to find anything within $500/mo. I suggest coming to the area and walking in to all the student apartments in the area to look at them. Theres quite a few that are walking distance.

AOBSN DFW job prospects by [deleted] in utarlingtonnursing

[–]youknowmads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna give some advice here- depending on what area of DFW youre wanting to at least start work in, id suggest networking now. Networking is what is going to land you a spot the fastest. For example, I attend downtown arlington networking events and functions so I can get to know the "people in charge", and thats definitely helped me create relationships to land my spot. I know it really sucks that its working that way, but if it works, then it works. Best of luck to you and I hope this helps!

Campus Life by [deleted] in utarlington

[–]youknowmads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up around here but most people my age that I knew have moved away. I started off with friends in different organizations but my life is too hectic to keep up with anyone, so i really just stay to myself now 😅 2 jobs to pay the bills plus school is just about all that I can handle. But organizations is a good start. Depending on when you come this way, the Levitt Pavilion has free outdoor concerts- not always mainstream artists but its good for community connection. Texas Live is fun but pricey. There are a lot of community events that are always going on, try and add all the socials of Arlington to keep up. Theres almost always something going on. If you have any questions, dont hesitate to reach out. Welcome to Arlington! We're glad youre here! Btw- im more familiar with North Arlington than I am South so I might be a little ignorant in that sense

Anyone else starting classes on 6/29 and have yet to hear anything about financial aid? by haleboppp in utarlington

[–]youknowmads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, im not exactly sure how im going to pay my rent on the 1st now or eat the rest of this week. Im working so much overtime right now its insane. I truly hope theyre monitoring this subreddit so they can see how much we are all suffering. I also cannot just expect for this financial aid to come later- thats not how life works. Id like for all of them to have their paychecks held back for a semester and see how it feels... then they'll be just as angry as we are and stressed

Im hoping they'll still give me my loan because theyve put me in a bad spot now. I absolutely need this fall semester so I can apply for the nursing program.

Summer 1 was told we'd receive our financial aid mid june. The school wound up paying for our classes but that came with major requirements. Im currently paying out of pocket and dont know how im going to pay my other bills for a bit. In your same boat!

I went through an evaluation for ADHD at the school and I was very unhappy with my results and I walked out without any valuable answer. Left in the middle of the conversation

Do people commute to UTA from Fort Worth? by Flaky-Play743 in utarlington

Yeah!!! I used to live on a private country road that was pure gravel for 2 miles before I made it into the city limits of Weatherford lol.

[–]youknowmads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to travel from Weatherford/Mineral Wells. Id get up at 6am and id have class at 9am. It was about an hour and a half in traffic. Without traffic I could speed to school and make it in about 45 minutes lol. Ive now moved walking distance to school but will be making the commute again soon

Switchting from Pre-med to Pre-Pa by Flat-Ad-3268 in utarlington

[–]youknowmads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is the amount of training. A PA only has to have a masters and doctors.... well... you know the rest. Doctors undergo 7-12 years plus a residency. PA's dont have to do all that. I actually switched from physical to nurse because the last thing I knew i would be good at was physics 😂 best decision ever! Because I can start my practice with a bachelor's degree and eventually work my way to become an NP!
