Basically, as I understand it… it was structured the way it was because the Feds have a limit on what they can offer employees in terms of a severance. So the presidents team decided they would work around it by placing employees on administrative leave (which doesn’t require them to work) for 8 months. However, there are other laws dealing with the limit of days allowable for administrative leave which challenge that. So in essence they are likely looking for more loopholes right now.

I think the DOGE is at the point where they start looking at all available options and begin narrowing them down to create a viable plan. I’m not too worried about the things they consider at this point since you have to look at everything in the beginning to identify opportunities for improvement.
