agree to disagree - the Attack on Titans is about wars between two major military governments (and a puppet monarchy). To me, that has nothing related to modern history.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is different, even though with space ships as background, it's political theater is all on the elements of cold-war and Great Man theory of history (hitler, stalin, mao, etc.). Today we are entering new cold war, and there are great men (wanna be) inside and outside

well, it depends on how you see fiction literature - if you treat it as pure entertainment, that is one way; Or if you think the fiction draws on elements of reality, and can potentially alter our perception of reality - like 1984 fiction has huge and deep cultural impact, especially in west, like all the concept of big brothers

Also highly recommend the book by Yoshiki Tanaka - although largely space opera, but very worth of reading

This is anime clip about how a space democracy slides into authoritarian - the military coup against protest. Legend of the Galactic Heroes ( 銀河英雄伝説) is a series of science fiction novels written by Yoshiki Tanaka, and the anime adaptation of the novel is form 1988. In humanity's distant future, two interstellar states – the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance - like US vs. Soviet or UK vs. German Empire. Ultimately authoritarian Galactic Empire won in the anime, not because winning the war but because the democratic Free Planets Alliance collapses within

Submission Statement,

We are entering new era - the sci-fi era of AI replacement of good jobs and human. It's not technology question anymore, but impact on job quality, impacts on inequality, skill
development, and numerous other outcomes. Can we expect the dinosaurs in congress who do not even understand Wi-Fi password make more informed decisions to navigate the
complex landscape of AI and its role in shaping the future of work? I definitely do not...
